Today he got the game plan right. We took a little bit more risk than usual and the game was back and forth in the first, but the counter attacks worked and our build up not the usual slow one. Once we went 2-1 we adjusted and kept it tight.

Nice to be positive going into an international break! Plenty to work on but that was a huge win away in a tough ground.

The defensive shape has been a big improvement. I'm not always a big fan of bringing on an extra centre back to close out a game as you are inviting on waves of pressure but when it works it looks like genius.

The attack looked much more fluid today with Simons in the 10 but I think having the pace of Tel upfront made the biggest difference. Richarlison's poor form has really had a negative impact on our attack. Plenty for Frank to ponder but he looks like a man with a plan atm and thats all you can ask for as a fan!

They've been 2 or 3 really bad performances this season but we're way ahead of where i thought we'd be at this point. Defence looking a lot better, rotation is good, tough to beat, 1 defeat in 10 overall and 3 away wins and a draw in the prem. We're not a top side as we dont have enough top players and a bit of an odd lopsided squad. Still a work in progress but promising.

Flange tries to go blow for blow with those btw and we get caught up in the momentum and their not very good players suddenly have space and time and that’s when technically deficient but motivated footballers can score. And we lose sight of it.

Frank slows shit down, adjusts, takes the sting out of them and we win.

Fucking tactics. It’s a miracle.

Love how involved Frank is on the touchline, he’s always back and forth with his staff and players, never standing still.

This squad however, will fall short sooner or later, and he’ll end up carrying the blame, on this board he’s never more than two losses from a Frank-out thread.

Footballing nerds are going to absolutely hate this guy.

Again, our xG looks atrocious but I just watched that 90 minutes and I felt we created plenty of quality chances.

Frank seems to consistently get performances that look much better on the eye than what xG claims.

Excellent start to the season. Adapted more than once today got a good 3 points at a tough away ground. Ahead of where I expected us to be right now.

Yeah this. He's got the job of turning round an ocean liner from last season. We’ve got a whole attack missing. He has his work cut out improving what we have and today for example we could have been two up with better finishing. We just look to not quite have the quality to properly dispatch teams like Leeds so have to graft for the win. It will continue to be like that until we can get kulusevski/solanke back or until the window opens.

We can see he is managing the squad and players through a lot of games and we’ve only lost once. Can’t really complain if we all take a step back and think about it.

We created a lot of "almost chances" - but either when Udogie put a good ball across there was no Spurs player in sight, or when Xavi was free with a 3 on 3 he chose the wrong ball and me missed the opportunity to get a "big chance" on goal.

Imagine if we start actually break even on XG 😍

Good start to a tenure that will be sustained through results more than the quality of performances.

I think it's always hard to be certain what a manager and their coaching team bring, and still too early for me to be able to tell a neutral what it is.

I might lean to pragmatic football at the moment, not really knowing what I mean by it.

This may be a more appropriate way of describing it because those Udogie chances were Exhibit 1 of what I was thinking about when I posted along with that Kudus chance he put over.

For me, there’s a lot of good play and simply because someone didn’t get a slight touch to it and it comes to exactly 0.00 xG doesn’t mean we weren’t playing well.

Good post.

Great start to the season. Sorted out the worst defense in the league, picking up points, progressing well in the cups and Europe. All while dealing with a lot of attacking injuries and the unconscionable decision to not get a proper LW in the market after selling Son.

Now it gets hard though, really tough run of fixtures coming out of the break and we’ve probably ridden our luck a bit in the first two months. Still needs to improve a lot tactically going forward if we’re going to win games, and still dealing with very mixed player availability.

Have a lot of faith in him, but could see us taking a step back in the next couple months before rounding into form in 2026.
