Someone that doesn't come with insults, what is this madness?!

Appreciate it, I'm not dug in, and have said that if I see green shoots I'd be happy to change my mind, but for the last 6 odd weeks, haven't seen anything to change my mind. I don't think he'll be anything like a success here, but nice to converse with a reasonable person.

Would be easier if he just voted and stfu. Instead, it's his mission to try to convince the entire board that he's right. He's even keeping bookmarks so he can be right on the internet like any balanced human being does.

I’m Frank in and I want to give him the full season. But it’s true that he has yet to do anything good. He failed to win the Super Cup and we were knocked out of the League Cup at the first hurdle. He needs to be given time to sort out our team but I’d like to see some green shoots. The NLD would be perfect time for him to establish himself with the fans!
 
Nothing Frank did before coming here, or has done here so far, warrants anything more than a cautious optimism that he's intelligent enough to figure things out as he goes along. I share that optimism for the time being, but wouldn't hold it against anybody who doesn't.

Anything beyond that is just forced and counterproductive optimism, which is also the reason why the first few pages of most player threads are filled with comical takes and predictions.

When it's all said and done, chances of this going down as a middling appointment for a club run by people with middling ambitions are higher than him becoming the next Pochettino or even better. Hence the emphasis on staying cautious.

What’s he meant to do other than argue for what he believes in? That’s his viewpoint, he’s backing it up. You can agree, disagree or just don’t give a shit but you can’t fault somebody for arguing their case.

It’s not like we haven’t had multiple madmen on here fervently arguing that Kane was crap, Ange was great, Winks was the next Iniesta etc. I had to listen to all of that, Frank not being a great manager is a very tame opinion in comparison.
 
Frank is a capable Premier manager, he has a new group of players most of whom appear to be fragile.
My only concern is that he appears to set up his teams to negate the opposition, not to beat them. This group are consistently inconsistent so we don’t know what will happen from game to game, the bare minimum I want from him is find the courage to beat the teams we appear to be terrified of.
I don’t expect a trophy this season, but I do for next season. I’m not getting carried away by our league position as I think this is a bang average league now. The top clubs will still win everything because the rest of us are falling further behind, the CL is a jolly diversion for me as we are miles away from contending but I agree with Sir Bill on European football.

Where we are in the table now is solely through blind luck, nothing more. If we lose at the weekend, we'll be in the bottom half after 12 played, and most of that was a nice kushy run. Then the narrative will go from, "we're 2 points off 2nd" to "we're 5 points off 5th" and it will continue on until people realise that we're shite and the tide will turn here.
