There is room for improvement, but even the improved version most likely wouldn't be something fundamentally different than this.
This is my point all throughout, even at his best - he's just not Spurs.
I think this is what people who are just blaming players seem to miss.
It doesn't matter the players, he's always this manager
Yeah, and if you put a positive spin on Frank's CV you can imagine how Levy, Vinai & co fed themselves a narrative that he ticks those boxes: likeable guy, good communicator, improves players, massively overachieves his budget, strong on set-pieces, blah blah blah. Given the way the game's going I bet they thought he could be our Arteta. And I'm sure in his interview he came across well and sold them a dream of attacking football and how he could upscale what he learned at Brentford to a club like Spurs.
Alas turns out he really doesn't seem capable of leveling up to a bigger club and rather seems to be dragging us down to Brentford's level. He lacks the charisma and winning mentality demanded of an elite manager and that's something that can't be learned on the job.
I convinced myself he could do a Poch, could step up and grow into the role.
And if have loved him to! But I agree, he doesn't have it.
I won't hold that against the club, fair play for giving him a shot - I'd like us to retain that possibility
I've always said, the "right" manager isn't necessarily biggest name or highest profile ...
Owners need to start putting in clauses in contracts to protect from what Frank and Amorim are doing basically saying they won't quit so they can get their handsome severance despite their performance not being good enough.
Something like you only get your full severance if sacked with a certain average point gain or win percentage.
I like the idea. Although recently clubs have just put people on gardening leave as well, cheaper to just pay their wages until they get a new job....
Don't think we will get any points at Bournemouth, and I feel it will be Frank's last game as a result.
If he goes soon (he should) it'll be Villa. Out of the cup and with a week between games
(Tbh I also predicted he would go after Sunderland when I anticipated the crowd turning)
I assume Frank is not a fool, he & the coaches must see its not working, so why doesn't he try a different system 352 or 343
I don't think he knows HOW to change it.
Look at Sunderland, first half was his best shot imo - and while we enjoyed it a lot more than any of the football this season it wasn't actually great was it?
