Come again?
We have quality players? That’s news to me.Absolutely damming that! What on earth have we done. Imagine if Brentford had some of our quality players as well!
Last season, without defenders, our defence was shit.I mean if Frank can scale up all that then it makes him a better prospect than Ange (with his fuck all care towards defending etc) but there are huge questions he can. Maybe with better players it is possible?
All in all it just looks like a Venn diagram of shite. Wonder what it looked like the season we finished 4th under Conte and peak Poch.
Last season, without defenders, our defence was shit.
This season, without attackers, our attack is shit.

Midfield been shit
Madrid fans were literally booing and whistling at Casillas in the middle of play in that clip, worse than what our fans were doing to Vicario.
Yes it's abhorrent, but it happens. Fans are not a monolith though, and it's silly to suggest that they're a "problem" that can be fixed.
The vasty majority of Spurs fans and football fans in general will cheer the club on if there's something to look forward to. If Thomas Frank got them playing more progressive football and we won 4-5 games on the bounce the same fans booing would be suddenly singing his and the players name despite fighting with them a few weeks earlier.
The same "fans" were praising the team after losing 4-1 at home to Chelsea, because it was off a string of good performances and they liked the fight and desire in that game.
The players getting into huddles in solidarity against the fans as a singular entity that exists only to antagonise them isn't a good thing. It's not a normal thing at top level football, anywhere. Yes, players fight fans, argue with them, throw up gestures, but the fact that the whole team feels like they are being wronged here is a huge issue. It is THE issue with the squad imo. We're wasting time ranting about whether or not the fans are the problem.
If you're talking about the occasion that I think you're talking about, then nobody was booing Sanchez himself, they were booing the decision to bring a centre back on with little time remaining, at home, in the second leg of a CL knockout whilst chasing a 1 goal deficit.
You can still debate whether it was right or wrong, but I find it a bit disingenuous to simply describe the situation as the fans booing Sanchez.
So what if Micky won't sign a new contract. Sell him. He ain't that good.
Players sign for shitty clubs all the time (see West Ham). I doubt they wont sign for our basket case of a club.
Southampton currently festering in the Championship have one of the best academies in England producing good players all the time. I doubt ours will dry up.
No - we really aren't - we have no control over the ability of the squad - we have control over how we support them - it is, in fact, more pertinent to discuss what we can do as fans to support the players and team than endlessly talking about how shit we find x player or how much we hate the manager.
I'm not debating that, I don't think the Vicario booing was helpful at all, I think the guy's a dick but that was the last thing that was required at that moment. What about Emerson -
either way -
It doesnt help does it?
Am I missing something here?
Who on here thinks creating a negative atmosphere in the middle of a game is going to have a positive effect on the game?
Many of our goals conceded this season are from outside the box where the midfield hasn't done their job or simply great goals. Or Absolute blunders like Fulham.
We definitely do not have control over how we support the squad as a monolith. No - we really aren't - we have no control over the ability of the squad - we have control over how we support them - it is, in fact, more pertinent to discuss what we can do as fans to support the players and team than endlessly talking about how shit we find x player or how much we hate the manager.
true plus even a polish turd stinks up the room if you don't flush it downMidfield been shit
Head Coach is shit
I'll say it again. You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter. That's what the Europa League Trophy win was. A turd rolled in glitter. Boy, what a wonderful turd it was. Until the glitter fell off.
Funny post - but I'd argue Kudus, Xavi, Muani aren't absolutely all shit? Because last time I checked, all three mentioned are international players. 90% of the users on here were all creaming for these signings.Last season, without defenders, our defence was shit.
This season, without attackers, our attack is shit.

No, I'm using West Ham as an example of a club who are rancid but still find ways to buy the odd decent player. It's not impossible... players and their agents are greedy fuckers. Most of them couldn't care less about trophies. They want money. Eze got 180k from Woolwich... if we slapped 250k on the table there are two things that could happen. 1. Woolwich come up to 250k or 2. He signs for us... he's not signing for Woolwich for 180k if we have a contract 250k on the table. No matter how good they are and how shit we are. I reckon he's taking the 70k extra a week. You're using West Ham as case study for where we want to aspire?
Look, I just think this toxicity doesn't help.![]()

Just the specific Sanchez incident that you were using to back up your case was given without some pretty relevant context.
Was Emerson booed when being subbed on?

We definitely do not have control over how we support the squad as a monolith.
The club however have much more of a responsibility than the fans to sort out:
A) How they all perform, from board members to players
B) How they can fix the relationship with the fans
We're absolving them of responsibility, and they're absolving themselves of responsibility to turn things around by focusing so much on the fans.
It's really as simple as put in better performances = better fan support.
That is true for every single football club. You might bring up United or Liverpool as exceptions but again, their fans aren't a monolith, they're individuals with highly differing opinions, and luckily for them they still have tons with which they have alot of credit in the bank for past glory. We don't have that.
I watched the second half last night of those cunts and Liverpool and was thinking the entire time I haven't seen football like this for a very long time by us (in Liverpools case) Every time a midfielder came back for the ball they turned or slid away from their markers and faced forward and had multiple passing options every single time. People always moving for the ball and being smart with it without losing possession. Now Gravenbirch McAl Szob and co are all far superior footballers to what we have got but theres no way our guys cannot do this at least sometimes. Liverpool have been crap this season too yet they can play like this even when in a mess away at the leaders and completely dominate the game.
We need to get back to playing football this summer - whoever takes over they have to be a possession based attacking manager and if they don't work we must stick with this ethos which is the ethos of the fucking club.
PS Woolwich were pants as well - the way they approach big games is pathetic.
