Constantly work to ensure the Club Board is aware of supporter views on a variety of issues.

They've always been good on 'fan' issues (although some of their achievements may be over stated).

I'd have thought a good item in their agenda now might be rising beer prices at the stadium etc.

But no, its 'we think you are following the wrong strategy' . Its that kind of leap to areas they can neither 'win' on and from what I have observed do not have the skill set to really address - not being rude but I don't see any high flying management/director level experience in THST

I have always been broadly supportive of the Trust but I agree that they went overly political. Cloake is a decent bloke but is by his own admission is on the hard left of the political spectrum. Not sure that makes for a good working relationship with a capitalist investment firm.

Getting into bed with the red scousers was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I absolutely agree with this sentiment, with slight variances.

I think Liverpool's trust (or equivalent namesake) is powerful and effective, I think there are many supporter issues which are shared, not just with LFC other Clubs to up and down the country, but the way in which they were often argued was always highly politicised (right vs left). (these days I'm more left than right but don't have any political allegiance and never will but it always bugged me how many of the issues were fought).

I had and will always have huge respect for Cloake though, a very smart guy, propper Tottenham through and through. I think in the space of just a few short weeks since he left the difference in professionalism at the Trust is now clear. I saw that last statement by the Trust as hugely embarrassing, not only in its content but how it was communicated too.

I had issues with the Trust when Darren (can't recall his surname) was in charge (I think he was the first). I had similar comments as people are making now e.g. "they don't represent me". It then dawned on me that this was fucking nonsense, of course, they didn't represent me because I wasn't a member!!!! So I became a member. Even went to their meetings. I urge every fan to become a member (there are different types of memberships to suit all). It's an impossible job as evidenced when I heard some of the crap spouted from the members at these meetings.

But I felt it brought me closer to the Club, enjoyed going to the meeting because they were held at the stadium and other Tottenham venues and I've got to meet some really nice Tottenham folk too. And I've aired my views and got to vote on matters about the Club. If I'm a minority in a view so be it, this is the way of the Wolrd.

Apart from the politicised position taken by Martin I think both he and Kat were very poor in how they used social media. They engaged the trolls, gave them a platform, and went toe to toe with them. It was an example of how not to handle social media. When I logged into Twitter some nights it was filled with these spats.

It's early days but the Trust needs him back now compared to this new lot.

This is worth a read:

Good post. I was (am?) a member of the Trust. Never been to a meeting or voted on anything though.

Trust calls for clarity and commitment now

17/1/2023

Two weeks ago we asked the Board of THFC to outline its strategy and vision. Today Antonio Conte asked for the same thing.

It is clear to everyone that, for there to be a chance of success at this Club, the vision and strategy of the Board and Manager must align.

We understand the widespread discontent among Spurs fans who have loyally supported the Club through the 22 years of the current ownership, years in which success on the pitch has not matched the increase in the price of watching the team.

It is time for the Club’s Board to clarify its approach to achieving success on the pitch and to commit the necessary resource and support to secure that. The Club cannot continue to drift from one approach to another.

We urge the Club to reconsider their decision not to provide answers to the key questions raised by THST, and many individual supporters, until February and to provide those answers now. It is perfectly possible to do this without compromising the Club’s commercial position.

Spurs fans deserve greater clarity about the Club’s aspirations.

The club will just cut them off again

These guys maybe behave like IPCC, or HR department at work, they don't seem to work for us, the fans. They could be Lievy's prefects. A fake complaints department.

How do we mobilise against the current ownership peacefully and directly without involving a group that in the round has done nothing noteworthy stopping us being in this predicament? It's nothing personal but I think it's time for some civil disobedience.

Well done? Lol, they've totally misinterpreted Contes quotes and are trying to whip up a storm/win brownie points off the back of it. The Club responded to their earlier statement saying they'd respond in full in due course and now the THST are acting like this? Can't believe you lot are lapping it up

Yeah, and? in the context of the questions being asked at the presser it doesn't even raise an eyebrow.

So many idiots in this world who can't think for themselves and just swallow whatevers being pushed by the media or people pushing an agenda
You're clearly hard of thinking.

Conte is questioning the vision of the club. The Trust are also questioning the vision of the club, you however are like....
This Is Fine GIF

Neumanator Neumanator care to elaborate what the disagree is for? You think THST are good organisation? What are they doing for fans I don't realise? Or are you a Levy apologist? Baffling to be honest. Not what I expected from a peaceful rasta, at all.

I believe that the organisation does its best under very trying circumstances. The fact that there is no requirement for the Club to engage with any supporters group or representatives means that any questions/queries/demands that the Trust wish to put to the Club/Chairman need to be (a) within the remit set by the Club otherwise they will be ignored or even worse, told that there will be no communication with the Trust at all. The unpaid volunteers who run the Trust work long hours to try and make the match day going experience (home and away) better for the fans and also attempt to have the Club explain their financial and administrative procedures more clearly, along with sharing the Club's future planning. Bearing all this in mind, what is it that you want/expect the Trust to do, that won't get them excluded from any further discourse?
