So are we better off buying and selling or throwing that money at long term contracts on bigger wages to keep a tried and tested nucleus sweet like we have done the likes of Kane, Dele, Poch, Son, Davinson etc whereby we only buy when we need to sell like we would have to in the summer should Eriksen depart?

The best money we spent was pinning those that we could do down with 5 year, 6 year deals. We've forked out huge sums for what we usually lay out to our staff with £165k a week to Pochettino, £150k to Del and soon to be Sonny if rumours are to be believed and £200k to Harry. I guarantee the club tried doing the same with Toby & Christian but they ain't playing ball so we'll replace as and when
The project won't change mate will it new stadium or not this is levys MO so will continue to be used, as for those that don't sign new deals they will have to be sold but it's what we replace with

Probably the ideal result for us in all honesty. Keeps Man U far away enough that we don't look at what they're doing as much and keeps Liverpool within distance should things take a twist.

A dodgy result at home to Watford or in the Merseyside Derby and we can possibly overtake. Stranger things have happened

Win our next 2 games and we could be within 3 points of pool by the time we play them ! :sonhmm:

Win our next 2 games and we could even be tied with Liverpool mate. Watford have just dismantled Cardiff away 5-1 & gave us a good run for our money. Anything can happen , hence why we have to keep fighting. A long shot but if Crystal Palace can get 3 points up at the Etihad like they did, shithouse FC with Deeney & Co are capable of bursting off colour scouse bubbles.

Last 4 games for Liverpool, 3 draws. Not exactly brimming with confidence at the moment and you know that Watford team will set out to make it as hard on them as possible and play to the tension the fans might start feeling. Probably won't happen but they didn't impress me today at all

Hopefully we keep up our tradition of going on a winning run after losing

how come pool aren’t bottlers yet? The amount of times they have had the chance to put some distance between them and 2nd place they have folded

If Smalling had crept in and done better in the 91st minute would people call a team that could have been 7 points clear 3 weeks ago bottle jobs? They left Smalling wide open it was only Smallings decision making that prevented Man U snatching 3 points. Instead people will say it's a good, hard earned point. Shocking really the agendas set out

We’ve always been in the title race and still are although we don’t do ourselves any favours sometimes

But we don’t have anything to worry about from that shit show earlier

We have some big games coming up which could decide whether we continue in the title race or stay in the top four. The scum have some easy games coming up aside us of course. It's probably a good thing we have two London derbies coming up as the players can get up for it. Lose the next two and I'll probably cry.

You can't win a title playing timid football, which is what we've served up in too many crunch matches. When Leicester won the league, they started every game with incredible intensity. Opponents knew they were going to suffer. City and Chelsea did the same thing in recent seasons, they played with authority. That's why they hardly lost any matches.

Yesterday we spent most of the first half letting Burnley box us into our own half where we happily passed it sideways and did nothing. We never took control of the game in a meaningful way, we never intimidated their players or made their crowd nervous. We were easy to play against in every aspect. Of course Burnley play a style of football that can make a top team look shit if they do it well, but that's when a top team wins through hard work instead. Can we really say that we worked harder than Burnley? That we were stronger than them? That's why we won't win the title. Of course you can always lose a game of football but to win a title you have to have incredibly high standards, much higher than we have.

Deep down the team doesn't believe they can win the title, there is no other explanation for their performance. Compare the way we played yesterday to the way Leicester played in their title season. They played with the confidence of champions. We played like a team that knows we are 3rd best.

One of the best posts I have read.
