He played against Everton and cost us the game with poor defending on a free kick.
And yet Dier makes mistakes regularly and rarely ever gets dropped.

He's very underappreciated at this point in time. He's as solid as they come. Very rarely makes a poor decision.Still an all time signing for us. 12m for 6 seasons and counting of top notch football.
True indeed. Easier said than done unfortunately. Not too many top CBs out there for affordable prices. Sanchez was bought as the Belgians' successor but that hasn't worked out. Hopeful about Rodon. Might dip back in the market for a CB in Jan, especially if we are right in the mixAll true lads, all true and he was great today.
BUT.........he struggles against pacey strikers now and we really do need to be looking to replace him (none of our existing CBs can do that), we need to be looking to sign 2 quality CBs.
Because he's only responsible for his position when he does!He plays better without Sanchez next to him.
Him and Dier did well today against a very cynical and physical Burnley side.
The injury could have gone either way but his response was immense.
Top man. And top coaching to be fair.
It probably also helped that Burnley's attackers move about as quickly as turtles. Against pacier attacks we would probably need Sanchez in because Toby doesn't move as quickly as he did a few years ago. His positional and technical play however is still top notch tho.He plays better without Sanchez next to him.
