Ex-Spurs Player Toby Alderweireld

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Whilst Toby's injury MAY not be as bad as first feared, and might only be out for 2-4 weeks, it ain't half a lousy 2-4 weeks to be out for!
Chelsea, Arse & Liverpool (amongst others) to come in the next 4 weeks....
Really shitty timing.... unless either Rodon & Sanchez can step up!!
Dier has thrived at CB this season.... but how much if that is due to the fact he's had Toby at his side??
Dier is the 'experienced' defender now... whoever he's partnered with.

See this is where I think you are wrong ,
We are top of the league and Jose is a proven winner and one of the most successful managers of all time , do you think Kane and Son are going to be getting bored of playing this kind of football while sitting top of the league with the best attack and defence in the whole league? I think it’s the complete opposite and they will buy into Jose’s philosophy even more, knowing that if they run through walls for him then the league is possible.
we'll have to agree to disagree.

I think the team will tire of continually ceding ground and possession, and start naturally playing to their obvious potential

Not if we are top of the league they won’t?
can you imagine the conversation
:mourbringit:“Listen to me do what I say and we will win the league”
:sonhmm:“Well Jose has won a lot maybe we should do as he says”
:hugoshock:“Top of the league, best defence and best attack in the league”
:baleshock:“Maybe this Jose fella knows what he is talking about”
:kaneear:“Lads I know we are top of the league and Sonny has 9/9 and I got 7 goals and 9 assists but this football we are playing and winning games with is shit I can’t do it no more”

maybe you're right
As I said, if we win the league I'm going to be as happy as any Spurs fan
I'm not a Jose hater, I like the new humble Jose and I like the fact that he has us top of the league and winning.

But I would rather be 2 or 3 up and battering teams, and I'm 100% fucking sure that that is where the first 11 would rather be. Nobody likes playing games being 1 up and being on the edge of the box for the last 30 minutes re-enacting the alamo or custers last stand every game.

Or Rourke’s Drift?

I got so lost in reading the last few pages of this betting/tough games thread, I was honestly shocked when I got to the end and realised it was the fucking Toby thread. :mourshock:

I'm still none the wiser about his injury!

I'm not nor have I ever tried to guess or even know what the bookies thought about the game. They are irrelevant to me and my opinion. I'm not claiming to know what they thought or how they viewed as favourites or not. I gave my opinion on the matches, the same I would give an opion on Kane.

In my opinion, I've made us favourites for all the games we've played so far this season. For the more marginal matches, I tried to give a broader explanation of why I thought this. We won those games!
Yes, it’s very easy to “pick the favorite” after you know what the result is.

2 or 3 up? I still remember the west ham game, let’s make it 4 to be sure! :mourthumb:

Well, that's why I think my opinion lends itself to being more authentic (there's probably a much more suitable word than that) than with going with bookies odds. I'm not trying to gain anything by having and sharing my opinion. It's there to be agreed or disagreed with, I stand to gain nothing whether someone agrees with it.

Prediction:
I can't call the Chavs game (how I feel about them I've detailed previously in this thread), I don't see either side smashing the other, bar a sending off to skew the difference. Push comes to shove then it's a draw (or decided by a single goal either way). Chavs will dominate possession, we will look to counter but might have to do that by bypassing the midfield and going long (we played through midfield against City because their press has dropped off a cliff and we had time), this is why I'm more concerned with them than City. They do have a tendency to run out of steam in the second half though, so rather than being a close run thing through the 90 (still with them with the possession though) it might be a game of two different halves, them having the upper hand for the first and us in the 2nd?????

There you go, primed for a 5-0 tonking by either side.
