Not even in series A does it seem to me have precedents
The Dutch FA messed up by not taking CL into account when scheduling the later stages of eredivisie, they never expected a Dutch club to get this far. However, this decision to reschedule the round had the support of the other Dutch clubs so the effects on the eredivisie are deemed acceptable. Ajax at first had to play this sunday, 2 days before their away game in London. Normally the game would have been moved to saturday or fridaynight, but that was impossible due to a national holiday.
Ok but it seems grotesque to me: the Koningsdag (Dutch national holiday is April 27th)
No, the Dutch FA made this decision with approval of all clubs. And many fans from other clubs are happy to see a Dutch club do well in Europe. I can see why you might think that way from your perspective, but the situation in Netherlands is very different than that of England.I think it’s a ridiculous decision from the Eredivisie. I bet other clubs, and their fans in Holland are fuming.
Jansen to score against Ajax. Imagine that. He did score 27 goals in the dutch league![]()

Yes, that's today. And Kingsnight was friday night. Lots of scheduled events throughout the country that take up all police. It's not a normal holiday where everybody just has the day off.
And yeah, you can look at it as unfair. But there's alot of things not fair about CL football. The main reason why the Dutch FA and the other Dutch clubs are so supportive of Ajax is because there is a lot at stake for Dutch football. Premier League and Serie A don't have to worry about UEFA coefficients or Champions League spots. Without Ajax' succes this season the eredivisie would basically have lost their CL spot permanently. Ajax played 3 CL qualification rounds just to even get into the CL this season. And if they'd win the CL they'd still end up with less money from UEFA than a Premier League club that only reached the group stages. English FA and clubs would have probably done the same if they were in that position, but they're lucky not to be.

We only played in the first half today, we had a good rest in the second.Although It seem unjust that we won't have a rest before Ajax game, all the time we have a good rest before a game this season we played shit and lost it.

I just don't see how we can compete over two games with the amount of injuries we have. I can't believe for the integrity of the competition how a federation can call a round of games off for one club. We are running on fumes and playing a third string team.
I don't see it that way, there was no alternative. Tottenham's game for sunday may 5th has been moved to saturday may 4th too because of the away game against Ajax on wednesday the 8th, so going from 3 days to 4 days inbetween. Ajax only had 2 days inbetween without any possibility of moving it sooner.

Yeah, resting isn't always good. Ajax have played very well through their busy schedule, not really been able to rotate due to lack of depth, might not been smart taking them out of that rhythm. Their last CL game against Juventus Ajax were looking the fitter team while many Juventus players were rested in their game before. If you're playing one of the most important games of your life you should be able to give something extra.I wasn't being entirely serious. But doing things like that have a way of backfiring so I'm not altogether sure it was a smart move.
