Match Tottenham Hotspur v Man City (2/2/2020)(4.30pm)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The obligatory, tenuous link to being a Liverpool fan.

My second cousin's best mate's chiropodist was a Liverpool fan and switched me on to them.

La.
Hated ‘Pool ever since... we were doing one of those ‘local under-13s’ mini-tours of other teams and I had to sit through watching a live Sunday game on TV where we were just dogshit. It was one of those mind-numbingly dull, grey, games from the 80s. I expect Rush or Dalglish scored at some point.

I couldn’t even just wander off as I was someone’s guest.

even worse, I think we then saw Norwich / West Ham live on the way back. Christ only knows where the tour was...

We will be lightweight in midfield , ropy at the back and wasteful up front

And that will continue until we start to address the key issues in this team

City will need to have a real off day for us to have any chance of snatching something

Lloris
Aurier - Sanchez - Alderweirled - Tanganga
Ndombele - Dier - Lo Celso
Bergwijn - Lucas - Son

Gazzaniga, Vertonghen, Foyth, Winks, Gedson, Lamela, Dele

Things they did to kids in those days

They've only won 66% of their away matches in the league this season, this isn't the Man. City of 2017/2018 and especially their defence is pretty average with Laporte still out.

I think we've got a decent chance of getting some kind of result at home.
Fair enough but I reckon that’s still 10 percent higher than the amount of home matches we have won this season

No it isn't. Look, I know it's easy to just look at the VAR decisions that go in Liverpool's favour and ignore the ones that go against them and then cry foul because of 'blatant favouritism' but I think if you look into it properly you would see that they enjoy no more favouritism than we do (or anyone else).
I'm not a Liverpool fan but have two grown up sons who are (we lived in Merseyside for a few years during the 1980's when they were kids) and because of that I have watched most of their games for many years live or on tv. The reason why they have a huge lead at the top of the PL is nothing to do with VAR - it's simply that they have the best manager in the league (even though I detest the man's personality), they have bought perfect players to complete their team when they are required, ignoring the cost (particularly Allison and Van Dijk), and their team is head and shoulders above every other team in the league because they are a team and not just a bunch of players brought together every game with seemingly no idea what their tactics are.
I wish it wasn't so and the situation with us and them was reversed but it isn't - there really isn't any point in denying it at this stage. To think that VAR wins you a 22 point lead after 25 games is just madness. They have now got 100 points out of the last 102 - do you really think that has been achieved through luck or VAR?
OK thats my Liverpool speech out of the way - back to Spurs now and their 3-1 thrashing of City today.
We all might secretly think this, but no way should it be made public on this forum.
Now go and spend a minute for every year of your age on the naughty step and think about what you did!

Lucky socks, lucky shirt, lucky scarf, lucky hat, lucky rosette, lucky pants and lucky coat, lucky face mask and lucky hand sanitiser gel. I'm really going for it today.

...and that's just so I don't get the Coronavirus.
