I want us to lose but I think if people expect that to translate to the players/coach they are wrong. The attitude of professionals will be very different and Ange will want to finish as high as possible, he will be worried about doing the best job he can, not Woolwich. Managers can’t really afford to be petty. He wants to install a winning mentality and he won’t be doing that by not wanting to win a game.

I also don’t think it’ll matter much. We will try to win but City when they hit their groove are an unstoppable object. They just win. We will be surgically dismantled and not because we want to fuck over Woolwich, but because they’re just too good for us.

Yeah, right on both points me thinks.

The players don't think like us.
City are a machine at the moment.

I've been thinking about it continuously for the last 24 hours and I've come to the conclusion I definitely prefer the success of this club over the failure of Woolwich and given that if Villa do indeed lose to Liverpool I think we should absolutely be going for City's neck regardless of what happens elsewhere because if we win Villa will crumble like a subway cookie against Palace away and CL will be ours which will be massive in terms of what we can do in terms of transfers.
I like this approach because it means City will tear us to pieces on the counter and win comfortably, so that lot down the road lose the league.

Our good record against them in recent years has been down to Conte/Jose park the bus and counter tactics. The 3-3 this season was a peak "catching City before they have got into gear" result. If Ange sticks to his guns this could get messy for us.

If Villa get beat tonight, I would be absolutely disgusted if you want anything other than a win tomorrow.

I mean, they'll fucking destroy us, whether we "let them" or not.
But to actively want to throw away a golden opportunity to get CL finish, more money, sign better players, improve the rep, exceed everyone's expectations etc is MADNESS.
It goes well beyond cutting our nose off to spite your face.

Poch and even Nono beat them to nil as well.

This wasn't because Arse are getting the rub of the green.
It's because on field refs are weak fucking cowards that leave it to VAR, and then it's 50/50 as to whether VAR can be bothered to look at it and then just use the excuse "it wasn't clean and obvious"
The ref was in the perfect place to award it and he'd awarded on field penalties in previous games.

I bet he'd have given it on the field if it was up the other end for Woolwich.

Yes, what with our Chairman's reputation for ploughing additional money back into the playing side, it would be sheer MADNESS

I’m not sure I will actually cheer goals going in against us in the stadium on Tuesday (which I hope they do).

I think there will definitely be noticeable cheers from the majority though.

Sky/TNT and the media in general will be out to ridicule Spurs no matter what. If we win they will absolutely lap it up and find a way to call it ‘spursy’ etc.

If we lose they will be crying about how we have small club mentality.

We can’t win either way, so I just want to avoid seeing Woolwich win the league. Seen that way too many times in my lifetime already.
Bang on.

No chance in hell that Woolwich would beat City if the roles were reversed. It would be peak Spursy for us to do it.

I've felt for years that Woolwich players always seemed to "get" the rivalry more than our squad.

Why are you surprised?

We haven't beaten anyone convincingly since Villa, no matter how shit they've been. And we've scraped past all the relegation fodder this year.

It has all the hallmarks of scratchy shit-fest. And you know if by some miracle there is CL riding on it, we will find a way to shit the bed.

So 2 months of matches when we haven't thrashed anyone which happened to be Aston Villa doesn't count yet Sheffield United who have conceded 101 fekin goals and haven't won at him since December and who's been statistically the 3rd worst team in Premier League history, Burnley went there and battered them 4-1 a few weeks ago ffs.

As I said before we had this 2 years ago against Norwich and we blasted them 5-0, I don't understand why you would ignore that?

There's absolutely 0 logic to your argument, none whatsoever.

For someone who claims to be a lifelong spurs supporter, you have no idea how Levy works.

He was, I have no argument.
Doesn't mean that refs in most games this season are actually making the call. They deliberately leave it and think "meh, VAR will pick it up"
Except VAR don't. They say it wasn't clear and obvious and don't get it that the ref probably 100% knows it's a penalty but is leaving it to them.
Maybe the ref should be telling them to look at it.

I mean if we're talking the absolute best case scenario in Fantasyland and the stuff of dreams.

We win tomorrow.......Woolwich celebrate and take the piss that we've done what they wanted us to do and they're all happy all week...... The Media anointing them Champions 'elect'...... A week of feel good for the Gooners as if it's a foregone conclusion.

And then they fuck it up completely by drawing to Everton on Saturday...... In front of 60,000 crying Gooners.

That would be the ultimate bottle job and something that that Woolwich team would never recover from.

(I did say Fantasyland and never going to happen)

Good plan except Woolwich beating Everton 5-0 at the Emirates on the last day of the season seems like an annual tradition. And it will happen again.

opportunity to get CL finish, more money, sign better players, improve the rep,
weve had CL football a decent amount of times over the last 8 years and its only got us to this point now... our squad is better suited to europa anyway. our first 11 isnt even good enough for CL let alone the squad.

we should actually be looking to win the europa. it should be an realistic achievement.

I will swear allegiance to us winning to get the holy grail of top 4.
The only thing that matters in this life and most probably the next too is our ongoing quest for Top 4 and the riches it brings our leader and visionary Sir Daniel the Levy

Happy now?
