Crystal Palace isn't exactly threatening, so things should be fine. Their set pieces were poor. Unless they got a counterattack going they won't offer much. Spurs will likely get the first goal and take control of things. They seem to be finding a few more openings on Kulusevski's side.

Has Angeball been "found out" or is it simply that we need better players still? These are essentially the same players that had us purring at the start of the season so I am not even sure anymore.

We need better players, especially on the wings.

You can make players look good for a short time, but they’ll end up reverting back to type eventually

What’s concerning is that the players are demonstrating the exact opposite of what Ange professes to coach.

We’re slow, timid and static when we should be fast, direct and brave.

Why aren’t the players shooting? They should get used to the rhythm of constantly attacking the goal. Instead they’re trying to create a perfect opportunity.

I think early season oppo teams had no idea what they were facing and it took them by surprise a bit. Trouble is that isnt the case anymore and they know exactly how we operate. Plus early on Bissouma, Maddison and Son were different class and they've all dropped quite a bit since then.

Dare I even ask for a working stream?

Surely it must be driving Ange nuts?

It’s the complete antithesis of how Ange wants to play

Midfield has become a big problem for us all of a sudden, is the answer really. Maddison has been a bit (and only a bit) brighter today so far but has come back really rusty. Bissouma's form is ropey. Emerson in the inverted role struggles taking it on the turn/if the game isn't in front of him. Whilst Bentancur is struggling to move and just looks like he hates any sort of physicality now and tip-toes around gingerly.

Middle of the park is where you set the platform, at the moment we're not.
Even when our midfield was decimated with injuries vs Aston Villa with far inferior players we pinged that ball around like prime barca for the first 45 mins.

Low block opposition has obviously been our bane for the last couple games. If you combine that with our newfound tentative, safety first approach up front you get 45 mins of dross even with 80% possession.
