Yeah, his slide probably started before then when teams cottoned on to our tactics and stopped giving him so much space. But he has been particularly shit since his injury.

When we were really on top in the first half Deki had a shot saved at the near post, Solanke had a yard and a half but couldn't get a shot away, Brennan put a shot over the bar when he should have at least hit the target. If one of those goes in, or two, then it would be a different story.
I dunno if I agree with that. The goal we conceded was an individual error from Romero (as usual). Our attacking play was terrible, but you have to question whether our wingers are fit for purpose.
They weren’t lucky at all, we created nothing and they played their game plan perfectly. Unfortunately we don’t have the players to play the way ange wants and he has no plan b or imagination to do anything different so it’s very easy to plan a game plan to beat us.

Pretty much, except for the goal that won the game. And you are right, our attack is crap, so they can let us have all the possession in the world and because their defenders and goalkeeper are solid, they can be confident of clearing away our crosses and set pieces. With our lot, put the ball in the box enough and the flap/mistake/weakness will come.
Their keeper, centre halves and general organisation won them this game, without their two best midfielders. We wouldn't be able to go to their stadium and do the same. Can't even do it at home.

That was a very uninspiring performance and and very unentertaining game of football. The second best team in the country just played Dyche ball and it worked.

If you had told me in June that we we would start the next season with the same team with the addition of a journeyman striker from Bournemouth then this is exactly the kind of result I would expect.
Simply embarrassing performance and result at home against a weak Woolwich side.
