The most unsafe I've felt around was when I went for a pre-match drink at the Victoria (inn? pub? can't recall) on the high road and the bartender asked me if I was an Arab or American.
Found the former amusing and the latter offensive.

15 minutes into the west end on the Victoria line. It’s fucking crazy how long it has taken for investment to be put into the area. If you are young and starting your first job in central london or are a student studying in london it’s a perfect place now to live.

I drink in the Vic(i drink in many up the high road)
Decent staff in there.Though whether they reamin when John and his wife move on,who knows
They may have already moved on,its been so long since i have been up there.They were definitly retiring and letting the pub go at some point.

It's nice to start there with a game of pool then stroll towards the bricklayers before going to the shelf (well I guess the new kop, haven't been to the new ground yet).

I think I just surprised them as they couldn't place my look and accent anywhere familiar.

I really liked that - they're quite engaging whilst informative at the same time. Whilst I didn't grow up in Tottenham (Upper Clapton, 2-3 miles away) I thought I knew what there was to know about the area but it's good to be educated otherwise. I think it's a channel worth subscribing to, somewhere where one can dip in now and again.

No one really knows as its not a language any natives speak anymore. So you could say it in a Japanese accent, so long as you deliver it with aplomb.

(Romanian is supposed to be the closest existing language fwiw).

It was a tad hyperbolic.

Lets just say if I was advising youngsters moving to London for their first job or study, Tottenham Hale would not be top of my list of recommendations.
