I have the feeling the mentality in the team is such that if Lennon is out someone else will step up to the plate, and we will beat them. Not a goal fest, just a roll of heavy-duty plastic for the kill-room, some extra-strong horse-sedative and a surgical knife kit. When the victim is suitably bound and chastised, a clinical slit throat and 1:0 score, bleach away the bloodstains returning home to hide the 3 points safely behind the central heating grille, while a man-hunt begins in Liverpool for the mugger.

Lawro's Prediction for Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur (Sunday, 16:00 GMT)

Liverpool have clicked lately, helped by the return of midfielder Lucas.

The Brazilian came back into the team following a long injury lay-off in December's match against Southampton and has rarely missed an important fixture since.

He's allowed key midfielder Steven Gerrard to play his own game, while winger Stewart Downing is contributing more and new signing Philippe Coutinho is performing well too.

They're starting to get goals from different areas instead of just from Luis Suarez, although the Uruguayan did score three of their four in the win over Wigan last week.

The Reds haven't got the greatest of records against Tottenham - in fact, their last win over them was in January 2010.

But Spurs are due a bad result and I feel they will lose at Anfield on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers's side will have to try to diminish the threat of with Gareth Bale, who has scored 11 goals in his last nine games for club and country. The way round that problem is simply by sticking close to him.

Lawro's prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs are on a run of 12 undefeated Premier League games and Lawro has us down for yet another defeat?

He now has us in 8th place level on points with bloody Newcastle!

The man has lost it.

Mark Lawrenson's Premier League Predictions 2012-13

Always expected him to put his team down to beat us. because one he is biased and two he seems to hate us.

I'm really buzzing for this game after the result last night now. If we show anything near that work rate they won't know what hit them. People are saying how bad Inter were, now let's not forget that Inter are 3rd in Italy, and they still had a lot of experienced players in their team.

Liverpool will certainly show us a sterner test, but lets not under sell our selves, we are in good form, and they will have to worry about us.

Love all the Bale frenzy. He did fuck all for most of the game yesterday, yet we spanked Inter 3-0.

I hope Pool put 3 men on our "one man", and let Dembele, Parker, Defoe and Lennon rip them apart

IF LIVERPOOL FC stop Gareth Bale then I’m confident they will prove too strong for Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.
Bale is in fantastic form and is difficult to cope with because he’s got great pace and power.
Tottenham are enjoying their longest ever unbeaten run in the Premier League but I’m not totally convinced about them.
Bale is so important to them that if you take him out of that side all of a sudden they don’t look much better than Fulham or West Brom.
Bale is not a Lionel Messi. He needs space and I think Liverpool can deny him that.
Spurs beat Woolwich last weekend because Woolwich cannot defend.
For long periods Woolwich were the better team but they give teams a lot of room in midfield and their weaknesses at the back let them down. Liverpool won’t make those same mistakes. I can’t see them allowing Bale space between the midfield and defence.
If Bale does get past his first man there will be someone else ready to take him on. We’ll have Daniel Agger and Jamie Carragher at the back with Lucas and Steven Gerrard providing protection in front.
I don’t think Spurs will get in behind Liverpool as easily as they did against Woolwich. Liverpool are better organised both with and without the ball.
We’ve found it difficult to beat the top teams this season. But with the form we’re in I expect us to win on Sunday.
With Luis Suarez on fire, Daniel Sturridge to come back in, Steven Gerrard playing so well and Philippe Coutinho showing what he’s capable of we’ve got match-winners.
Earlier in the season the front three picked themselves but Brendan Rodgers suddenly has options.
It’s a nice problem to have but considering how well Sturridge was playing before he got a knock it’s a no-brainer, he has to come back in.
Joe Allen played very well at Wigan last weekend but I wonder whether he might be the one to make way this weekend.

Gonna be a tough one. 'Pool have a lot of weak individuals but have been playing well as a unit of late. Sturridge gives them that goalscoring edge they need, Suarez is on a tear and their passing game has been great. I'm not sure we'll be able to break them at Anfield possession-wise, but luckily their defence is their glaring weakness and on the counter especially we should be able to exploit gaps and nick one or two.

Luis Suarez can win Sunday shootout of Premier League’s best
SUNDAY’S game at Anfield is a shootout between two of the Premier League’s finest players but I can see Luis Suarez being a lot more involved than Gareth Bale.
There is no end to Suarez’s talent and I certainly wouldn’t swap him for anyone else in the top flight.
Suarez is unplayable at times and Spurs will find that on Sunday. Liverpool will cope better with Bale better than Spurs do with Suarez.

In last week’s column I said how ridiculous it was that you could get 40/1 on Suarez to be crowned Footballer of the Year. Unsurprisingly, after his hat-trick at Wigan that price has dropped considerably but he’s still the outsider in a three-horse race and I find that quite amazing.
I’m a great fan of Robin van Persie and he gives you guaranteed quality but he doesn’t give you the all-round package like Suarez.
I think people are warming to Suarez – you can’t help but marvel at his talents. He paid his dues for what he did wrong last season and this season he’s been exceptional.
I was very impressed with Liverpool’s display at Wigan last weekend.
There have been times this season when people have gone overboard when Liverpool have won but there’s been nothing flaky about their performances in recent weeks.
Liverpool FC paying the price for absence from Champions League
LIVERPOOL’S accounts this week rammed home the importance of getting back into the Champions League.
If you aren’t in the top four but you’re paying out big wages then the figures just don’t stack up – hence the fact Liverpool suffered an annual loss of £40million.
It’s great winning trophies but we all know the serious money is earned by competing with Europe’s elite teams on a regular basis.
Not long ago, we were a well established Champions League club, consistently reaching the latter stages of the competition. In recent years we’ve dropped away and we need to get back to that level.
It might not happen over the coming months but there are signs we’re going in the right direction and can achieve that next season

I really hope we embarrass them to the point that Rodgers bursts into tears and admits he's a fraud & they have to rease a charity single to feel better
