The issue at hand is whether the PL can adjudicate and assess whether requests are made in good faith and if they can establish and enforce criteria in which games should be played or called off. Whatever happens, I won’t be upset with Palace, the league needs to do its job as the governing body and handle these situations.

Palace are fully aware of the rules as laid out to them again just last week - if you have enough players available you play - whilst you "won’t be upset with Palace" the fact they informed the media of their request, which led to thousands of fans wrongly being informed the game was off, - just who will you blame for that? or do you think will Palace will reimburse all those fans who, based on their 'leaking' to the media, now have useless unused tickets?

A private application from Palace, rightly rejected with no one the wiser, that's fair enough - but a full on media press to get a game called off - no that is not OK.

We've seen several clubs use the media in this way, the EPL needs to fine them all if they do it again.

Davies probably needed a rest but not ideal to have to change a back 3 that was working so well. This is a big game for our defence as we got totally rinsed by Palace last time, Emerson had a very poor debut against Zaha.

Hopefully Palace will try to play and not just sit there.
