Spurs enter at the League phase - draw held on 29 August (qualifying rounds draws on 18 June 17 June and 22 July, thankfully we have avoided them)

Its a single 36-team League stage with each side facing eight different teams (four at home, four away).

The top eight overall advance directly to the round of 16; sides finishing from ninth to 24th will contest the knockout round play-offs, with the victors going through to the last 16. From then on it is a straight knockout.

Chelsea, Bilbao (Valverde) and Roma look the most dangerous over 2 legs, but we should give this trophy a REAL go next season.

I think they still do some kind of draw so that one team doesn’t end up playing all pot 1 teams for example.

You're drawn against 2 teams from each pot and play 1 at home and 1 away. I imagine after the draw, they run it all through an algorithm which determines home and away.

It's one big league table. rather than a bunch of smaller group tables. The 8 best teams move directly into the playoffs. The remaining play a qualifying round in January to round it up.

Some great potential fixtures in there. Will definetly be wanting to watch as many of these as possible. There’s not a single team there that we should be fearing. Everyone is beatable there. Levy, let’s take this comp seriously please!

I’m gutted not to be in the CL but just glad to be back in Europe again. The new format will give us a lot of matches and lots of opportunities to see what our squad can do.
