England have such a talented team, strong in all positions in my view.

Agreed, I think people are quite quick to shit on England (sometimes deservedly) but this is a very promising team of youth players. Highlighted are players with the biggest experience, IMO, some even playing in European league games.

Goalkeepers

Marcus Bettinelli (Fulham), Jonathan Bond (Watford), Jack Butland (Stoke City)

Defenders

Calum Chambers (Woolwich), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Luke Garbutt (Everton), Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough), Carl Jenkinson (Woolwich, on loan at West Ham United), Michael Keane (Burnley), Liam Moore (Leicester City), John Stones (Everton), Matt Targett (Southampton)

Midfielders

Tom Carroll (Tottenham Hotspur, on loan at Swansea City), Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea), Will Hughes (Derby County), Jake Forster-Caskey (Brighton & Hove Albion), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Alex Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathan Redmond (Norwich City), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Forwards

Benik Afobe (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Patrick Bamford (Chelsea, on loan at Middlesbrough), Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Danny Ings (Burnley), Cauley Woodrow (Fulham)

That team would go close to beating the england first...
Sterling in the U21s would make them tournament favourites

Sweden is sporting a talented squad too (judging by our standards). Guidetti (Celtic), Kiese-Thelin (Bordeaux), Hiljemark (PSV) and more are all quality at this level. Have a few others worthy of a shout: Sam Larsson is bossing the Eredivise in his first year and is being touted as a possible Depay-replacement. The wingbacks have all been up and about the actual Sweden squad.

It hasn't been confirmed but the U21 will likely be given priority. If not, all of the above may be playing with the grown ups instead.

Hadn't heard of Larsson. 8 goals in 20 appearances? That's pretty good going. 22 years old...late bloomer?

He has been decent for a few years but was very one sided. Did a lot of tricks, fancy flicks and dribbles but to little effect. He played for a very negative team too. Now he's found some end product and has thus excelled.

With all due respect, his performances in the Allswenskan would be irrelevant. Even the Eredivisie can be a difficult league to judge players.

Anyway, excited to see this tournament. Do love a good youth player!

I agree wholeheartedly! Allsvenskan is not something to go by at all. Two CL-appearances for the champions in the 2000's says it all really. Sam is a decent baller but I doubt he'll ever play in the finer leagues, but among other youth he might be able to deliver a few YouTube-clips ;)

Not bad, some nice football, Belarus doing their best Scott Parker throw everything at the ball impression.

Carol has been at the heart of most of the chances. Great pass at the death of 1st half, that did not even get a mention. If that was Gerrard!
The other lob for Redmond was class, but also not commented on.
Don't know if it's me, but it seems everything Ward Prowse or Hughes does has been lauded but Carroll's undoubted better distribution and key passes have not been.
