Management Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sacking Vinai, while satisfying, is just rearranging deckchairs.

So ENIC just appoint another identikit CEO with a remit to keep costs as low as possible and finish midtable. And another. And another.

I still don't understand how anyone can argue that 25 years into their ownership ENIC have suddenly decided they actually want to be competitive, and they were powerless against the big evil Levy who foiled all their plans.

Nothing will change until they go. Nothing.

Don't agree with one point you make.
When Woolwich were all over the place they were still finishing 8th and winning the FA Cup. It never looked this bad.
Vinai is adamant about spending money on players... really... £1m net spend in Jan... as good an impression of Levy as there is. The messaging is the same as always and frankly I'd rather they shut the fuck up and do something to stop the rot. Actions speak louder than words.
That's alright - we don't have to agree. But I would like to elaborate.

My point is that a lot in here want to complain because they believe a bad period changes in the space of half a season. You have zero patience for a new CEO or a new manager - jeez, at least give them a couple of windows to form their team. But no, you lot are all over the place wanting to sack the manager, that we need to spend, that our wage structure is outdated, that we don't recruit correctly, that we don't use youngsters, and I could go on.

I get that when you have heard the same corporate stuff from Levy over the past 20 years, you get tired of it when it's not followed up by actions. BUT there are two points to be made here:

1. Levy DID progress Tottenham from being a mid-table team to a top 6 team. So saying "We have heard this bullshit so many times, but nothing happens" is just plain out wrong. I will concede that over the last few years, Levy didn't develop the team and he wasn't following up his talk with actions. But I also believe that's why Vinai was hired; the owners didn't see the progress that Levy promised, so now they're trying something new, which leads me to my second point.

2. This message comes from a NEW CEO. This is not Levy repeating himself. And I choose to give Vinai at least some time to make his impact - just as I choose to give Frank my backing for at least the rest of the season (maybe even the beginning of next season too).

However, I do agree with you that words haven't been followed up in the past. With Levy, it didn't happen in the end and I guess that's why so many of you react with delirious anger whenever management is trying to communicate. I believe it's different with Vinai. He even states he understands there is a disconnect between the fan base and the club right now - and that he wants to rectify it. Taking into consideration that Vinai is new at the club, don't we owe him the benefit of the doubt? At least I'm not gonna cry about it until there's proof that he only talks.

And to comment on your point about Woolwich dropping around 8th place: That can be due to a lot of things. Maybe even that Woolwich was at a better place than we are right now - but at least changes are happening behind the scenes. Also, Woolwich won the FA Cup, yes. But we also won the Europa League. That doesn't mean that everything is good, neither for us now or for Woolwich at that time.

The damage Levy did to people is clear to see.

It's going to take years to sort out, and too many posters are acting like spoilt children who can't get there way... And demanding unrealistic instant change and problems solved.

The proof will be in what happens this week. If ENIC are as ambitious as they say they will fire Frank today, and by Weds will have appointed a better coach wand immediately back them in the transfer window.

What I like about the press release / statement is it puts pressure on them to deliver now. We have something to remind them of their promise, on a day when Spurs lost to another awful team.

This transfer window and the summer, better be the mother of all successes, or nothing will change. They could start with appointing a manager who is worthy of the job and any new quality players we get.

Long read but much like Vinai's message yesterday... utter waffle.

Nobody is expecting everything to be fixed overnight and this attack on those wanting underperforming management and executives removed is baseless. No question, this will take time to fix... but you have to stop breaking it before you start fixing it. Frank, Lange and Vinai are still breaking us and all three need removing so we can start to heal.

Vinai hasn't even been in the job a year yet.

We just have to agree to disagree.

I wonder why the fans at the stadium don't direct some of their jeers toward this guy. I am really growing frustrated with him and feeling more and more that this is not his space.

Feels like Levy twin. Seems like a sociopathic charmer

Correct he hasn't been in the job a year yet, but he is doing more harm than good. Surely you can see that? If you can, then doesn't it therefore mean we have no chance of healing until those continuing to harm us are removed. You're argument is akin to a woman not leaving a man who is committing domestic abuse because he's promised he will get help and not do it again. Come on man. Wake up.

Cunt’s name doesn’t fit easily into a chant. Just burn the fucker. Vile epitome of modern football leadership. Hope he ends up in a Saudi embassy.

Please, tell me what you think he's done wrong so far?

Have in mind that he has taking over a massive organisation and it doesn't change in half a year.

Why don't you tell me what he has done right so far? Bearing in mind the previous CEO was universally hated so the benchmark for being a little bit better was lower than a snakes belly.

You honestly think we are a massive organisation... go look up Small Medium Enterprise. We employee just over 1,700 people and a lot of them are match day staff. We are not a massive organisation.
