History What was the first game you went to?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don't know. I was around 6 years old and not into football. My grandad intended to make me a convert but I just found it too overwhelming and scary at that age, partly because I saw some men fighting beforehand and just wanted to go home. I know we won but that's it.

1994 livepoool away in the fa cup. Sheringham on the stroke of HT then Klinsman in stoppage time. In the centenary stand. How a 12 yo child never got beaten to death that day who knows .
That was a great game to be present at, even more so when it's your first one. Trouble is, at that age, you think they're all going to be like that.
Coincidentally, we were in a pub in Hornchurch the day after, and who was there but Razor Ruddock. TBF, he took the banter really well.

Haha that's cool. Annoys me a bit now Ruddock when he's on tv. Yeah great game to be at. Me and my dad went nuts when Klinsman scored

Would love to know for sure the first game I went to.

Paxton road, wooden seats, winter as floodlights were turned on. Crooks and Archibald up front. There with my mum and dad. I was pretty young. Can remember the smoky atmosphere and that feeling of it all being in London and exciting.

Can remember another time I was a little bit older. Game very early in the season. Walked from Finsbury Park to the ground. Just me and my dad. Took for ever.
Remember John Chedozie scored a goal, Archibald had left by then which had upset my mum (with her being Scottish).

Funny things you remember.

Don't think that matters that much really, as long as it's not a tonking. TBH what I remember most was the feeling of walking into WHL and just falling in love with the place. And I have to admit I felt that again when I entered the bowl at the TH Stadium.
That's exactly how I felt every time I walked into WHL. From my first game in 1975, to my last there in 2004, the feeling when you got to the top of the Concrete stairs and looked over the pitch, it was just awesome, every single time.

One of the hardest things I did was give up my ST when we moved to Oz. I was often asked what did I miss most from the UK when I was over there. My first response was always WHL. I still miss it now.

Leeds 3-3 in 1998 at whl. Judas got a last minute goal. I asked my father, a non football fan at that time, to take me to a football game; I was 6 and obsessed with football. He couldnt get Woolwich tickets so we went to that game, hooked ever since.
I think that was George Graham's last match as Leeds manager before he came to Spurs.

I was at that game and so many of the others described on here it is making me feel fucking ancient tbh.

you're absolutely right!

there's something about the feeling for me in every stadium where you first see through the turnstile and see directly the seats on the other side of the stadium if you get me! I buzz off it I've been all over watching Spurs that moment when you first see the colour of the seats is really special!

A lot of people on here have been supporting a long time, I know we all argue a lot but it's great for context to understand how much Football and Tottenham we've seen over the years!
