Do you accept everywhere else he has been he is a hit the ground running , short term success then leave or get fired, quite often in a toxic way manager?Let Jose see his contract out

Inter Milan was probably an exception now I think of it, but I still stand by the aboveDo you accept everywhere else he has been he is a hit the ground running , short term success then leave or get fired, quite often in a toxic way manager?
I will exclude Porto as cannot be bothered to research his period there , but it was amazingly successful I admit.
So by the end of this season he won’t be far off two seasons in, he has already had 3 transfer windows.
What makes you think if he cannot provide his usual quick fix before it gets messy it is worth persisting with him?
I admit he could still win two trophies and still get 4th as I type ,although the latter is unlikely after our timid capitulation to Woolwich.
From a personal perspective I cannot abide his style of football and even if we do win a trophy the cost is not worth it for me.
What are you seeing that makes you believe he is now a give him time , if we are patient he will deliver manager. The teams progress , or lack of and his scorched earth approach previously don’t fit that narrative
i hope with all my heart I am wrong and he delivers trophies and good football , but cannot see it. We never faced a decent team in the Carabao reaching the final , or thus far in the Europa league, [ I accept you can only beat what is in front of you}. However we have gone backwards since Xmas failing against any half decent team.
Competing with Neil Harris for the spurs job hopefully
Get rid of Son?Where do we go.....hard question.... so what would I do ?
Firstly, I’d want a board level decision about what we actually are. A winning team or a nostalgia act that’s sort of decent but a bit soft ? Strategic direction. It’s hardly an untried ethos. Honestly, these last few years what the fuck are we all about ?
Twenty years is enough. Thank you and good bye and Levy gone from all Football related business. The man is not a winner of anything except the tag of debt.
There has to be a decision made to invest in players. i.e do not rely solely on player sales to generate money. And transfer decisions cannot be left to a man on record as saying he hates transfer windows. So goodbye Steve Hitchins.
Be sensible and know when to sell (failed to do this before and it’s cost us)
Time to say goodbye to Son, Lloris, Toby, Winks, Sissoko & Lucas. And release Bale.
Assuming others circumstances work in our favour buy the following - De Gea or Henderson, Boly, Lampty, Berger, Loftus-Cheek, Harrison Reed & well.....someone to replace Son if we assume Berjwin is not stepping up. These are proven Premier League players who should be able to step up or solidify our squad depth.
I am not sure on sacking Jose. I really am not. Everything screams of Sugar & Graham era desperation and something is wrong, but while Levy is there I can’t hold Jose to account. If he was to be sacked and Levy stay I would feel a bit like “what’s the point?” So I would move Levy before Jose or move them both on.
if Jose is to go then I am picking Nuno Santos as his replacement. Bringing in Neves too would be a nice bonus to replace Winks or Sissoko.
Big changes are necessary this summer whatever way but if they dick around until September and leave us short again it’s simply Groundhog Day again.
Contract issue mate. And age. I think he is a world class striker, but at 29 and with 12 months on a contract we cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of Eriksen. Assuming he goes for a good fee and that money is reinvested then he has to be sold. That is the non emotional decision I feel.

His contract runs out in 2023, no?Contract issue mate. And age. I think he is a world class striker, but at 29 and with 12 months on a contract we cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of Eriksen. The problem is, evem with a DoF, Levy is still too involved.I think we need a DoF, but the reality is we had one before and the results really weren't better.
Our most successful period in the past 30 years was with heavy handed Levy running the show and Pochettino with a "Head Coach" title. The club's run of form since Poch was upgraded thru Mourinho's tenure isn't likely to give Levy motivation to take a step back. If anything I expect he'll take a bigger role, post-Jose.
I get the impression from you and other posters that whatever he wins it won’t be good enoughInter Milan was probably an exception now I think of it, but I still stand by the above
This is spot on.This team has talent but I question the on field leadership. We've got a bunch of good lads but no one that really has that psychotic competitive drive other than maybe Lamela. Kane/Son/Hugo are not that type of personality. PEH looked like he was going to be that person but I don't think he has the star quality to really be that kind of leader.
What we really need is a larger than life player and personality that'll take the onus on them to drive this team forward when we're struggling (a la Ronaldo, Zlatan, etc)
This part. Levy needs to go. Its just big mistake after another on the pitch. He has really wasted having the massive luck that is having kane come through the ranks. Not even 1 trophy for kane. This is a bit of a reactionary thread to the Woolwich performance yesterday, but I think there are some serious questions that need to be asked .
Do we need a change in the upper management structure of the club for Spurs to succeed. So do we need to go back to a Director of Football system and a new team of people built around this person. So do we bring someone like Les Ferdinand with links to the club or someone from the continent who is a big name?
Do we Keep Mourinho or get rid?
Do we need a complete rebuild of the team or is it one or two positions?
Do we need to do an investigation weather Mourinho received any money from Spurs buying Doherty?
Going forward what style of play should we be aiming for?
Do we match the ambitions of our top players like Kane? If not then we need to sell him because it is unfair on him that we do not match his ambition.
Does Levy need to retire as chairman now that he has delivered the stadium and training ground and there are no major infrastructure projects for Spurs to carry out does he need to follow the original plan and find someone else to run the club day to day and be happy when the club is sold to someone else eventually?
If Mourinho stays how are we going to support him are we going to sign the World Class Defenders we need to play his tactics?
What type of players should we be signing.? Should we be signing world class talent or project players?
How do we sell the players we to get rid of?
Luckily for him he has many on here who would gladly throw themselves in front of a bullet destined for him. Bodyguard kevin Costner style. Levy would reward them with a 5% off voucher for last seasons kit. & 1 ticket to any spurs match*Levy would have to get on some sort of witness protection type programme.
Sounds good. I love erectionsThen erect a statue of the man outside the stadium, love a statue me take turns in standing in his shadow![]()
This is spot on.
Our star men are not the arrogant win at all cost types that I think you truly need to be successful.
I'd argue Walker and Rose were, one left and went on to win everything and the other missed out on his move and fell off a cliff.
Toby, Jan, Dembele, Eriksen, Kane, Dele, Lloris, Son - exactly as Jose said: a bunch of nice boys.
Not the type to hold players responsible for ducking responsibility.
Even if you go through the unspectacular United team they seem to play with a sort of arrogance, a self belief that probably stems from the size of the club rather than the individual's quality. Players like Fernandes, Rashford, McTominay etc.
There's no quick fix to changing the mentality at a club, you effectively need a full turnover of the playing staff - Jose was brought in to be that quick fix and it hasn't worked.
Theres no one out there willing to buy a club to win things anymore. Its all about making money now. Hence why frodo is still in charge at manure despite constantly flopping in big games. As long as he delivers champions league owners are happyThis part. Levy needs to go. Its just big mistake after another on the pitch. Ideally ENIC sells to someone who actually wants to win thing's. But if not, levy needs to retire or at the very least just stay out of footballing matters. He just messes things up & gets in the way. No signings, then here's 5m bonus for you (when we are meant to be skint) which he then follows by wasting 45m on jose. Cheers levy
Never said Walker and Rose were leaders but I think they were individually "winners". They had the arrogance to be personally hurt by defeats and they genuinely thought they were the best around in their positions.Agree with parts of this.
People are over complicating the notion of a leader and putting people in to suit.
To be clear Walker and Rose were never leaders for differing reasons and neither is Son but again for a different reason..
That person who leads does so by presence or performance. They do so because they are the person who the other players respect and admire. Who on their day drags the others with them in whichever way the situation dictates.
In the last 6/7 years when we got close but never quote got there, my view is that the player who was the silent leader was Dembele. Not saying he should have been captain but he had that presence as outlined above.
The reason why we did so well for a few years however was quality and consistency. That"s what City have right now bevause they have no Kompzny and now most of the time Fernandinho.
We really have nobody who is above the line often enough, other than possibly Kane, and yet he has games where he makes next to no impact.
Crucially and I think bizarrely there are some defenders/teams that obviously have little fear of Kane as well. That was never the case with Henry, Drogba and Shearer. Odd.
2022 I thought ? Happier if it’s 2023. Although the age v fee issue remains.
