Exactly. Seems a little odd to leave out the very people who are most directly responsible for player development.
what do you see in him to think that? i honestly dont see any wow factor about anything in his game. he looks average allround to me, even if he had the confidence of emerson royal i dont think hed be anything special.
Physically he has everything to be a top premier league player but he has the mentality of a 28 year old dude who heads to the red light district in Amsterdam to lose his virginity. That and he looks absolutely lost, like completely clueless any time he’s on a football pitch.

hes on par with gil in terms of physicality. both around the same height, prob not much in a race, and both get easily muscled off the ball. ive not seen sess win one fucking dual so hes clearly not strong.
but gil is a far, far more talented footballer than sess. sess is as basic as they come in terms of football intelligence and elegance
Ryan is quick. Still quick and I thought he had lost some pace. 34.91 kmph, ranks pretty high in the PL. This was his 2022 speed, his 2018 speed was only slightly faster.
ive never seen him outpace anyone? who have you seen him actually outrun? ive seen him bottle any sort of physical contact and just fucking give up which is a fucking sin! that would wind teammates right up when they see youve got no fight in you and youre a meek little twerp

He always pauses before he crosses into a defender, it’s weird. He needs to just go for it at speed.
For us he has never looked all that good. I think he just isn't the player we thought he was, we bought the potential and hype rather than the real deal.
He and Perisic are such a weird contrast out on that same flank looking to put a cross in.
Sess almost always looks like he's got his man beat then almost never does. Perisic always looks bottled up and cut off, yet the cross always gets away with pace.
I have noticed Sess failing to get his cross in frequently. He often hits the defender or plays the ball too close so its blocked. But I have also noticed what the outcome is. Very often its a corner or throw in. This might be coincidence or is Sess playing the percentages ? Maybe he feels there is nobody in the box to cross to or thinks a corner sent in by Son would be more productive. Time and time again my head has dropped when he fails to cross, then I think.....well at least he's got a corner or throw in.

no option for Ryan Mason?Sessegnon is to blame. He clearly has confident issues and is lacking the swagger required. Technically he is probably better than Danny Rose was, but Rose had that swagger and belief and put everything into it. Sessegnon plays within himself and never 100% believes he will beat his man / score a goal / win a header.

It would be a struggle to find more than 5-10 clips of him beating his man on the outside and putting a good cross in for Tottenham IMO.
