Will the MLS or Chinese Super League ever become more than glorified pub leagues?

Austin getting a team in 2021. Owned by the controversial and despised Anthony Precourt who got ousted from Columbus Crew after he tried to move the Crew to....Austin.

Already described as the most hated team in the league and they are not set to join for another 2 years lol

Can't possibly see little Austin being a much hated franchise. Columbus kept their team, surprisingly. If they want to be mad at anyone over the fiasco it should be Garber and MLS - the idea of relocating from Columbus to Austin was pushed by the league because Columbus brings in fuck all as a media market.

Austin is destined to be the same as most the clubs in the league - make weights. The city isn't in the top 10 attractive MLS cities for potential international players which means they're going to be stuck trying to develop players (in a market where neighboring Houston and Dallas have massively better youth) and fighting every other club in the flyover states to unearth quality Central American/2nd or 3rd tier South American players.

They even lose out on the hipster cunt contest, easily, to Portland.

2 games in but Almiron already looking good and taking to the Premier League like a duck to water - so smart scouting proves that players are worth buying the MLS.

Perfect use of the January window really.

Also may open up the eyes of younger European players that you can go to the MLS and develop before returning to Europe.

Let's see if anyone takes a second gamble next winter.
