So how did te argentine league put club before country then .??
Next to none of their players play in Argentina, and there is no chance that any of the clubs in England, Italy, Germany, Spain or France will be trying to help the argentine national team...so I think that's a ridiculous argument...I would say our manager is not good enough and the players not ruthless enough...e.g gutless

The best players in Argentina leave and come to Europe so the clubs there need to keep on producing young players and give them a chance. Until they are good enough to catch the eye of European clubs and so the cycle continues.

The French league isn't that strong BUT when it comes to producing young talent, it's the best league in Europe.

English clubs have all the money so go for the easy option which is some French or Spanish or Argentinian 20-something rather then look at their own academy or even lower leagues. Bellingham was playing the Championship with Birmingham when he was signed by Dortmund, why weren't more PL clubs all over him? Because he's English, that's why.

Blaming the manager is the English way, admitting our entire set-up is at fault (including having too many professional clubs which encourages mediocrity) causes too many headaches and too hard to solve. Swap Scaloni or Deschamps for Southgate and I sincerely doubt we'd have achieved any more this WC and past two tournaments.

It's over now, the PL circus is back next week and then it's the January transfer window and nobody will care about international football until the next big tournament.

Not sure Argentina is the best example, they have arguably a weaker first 11 than us minus the fact they have perhaps the worlds best ever player, a freak event. France and their production of players is the example to follow, they have 2-3 good first 11’s.

Alright Brazil then but right now Argentina are the World Champions and are the team to beat.

I mean look at Alvarez, how many people had heard of him before he went to City and now he's starting in a WC winning XI.

Great but couldn't they have found someone English instead? Grealish is a really good player but City have killed him, they only bought him because a) they didn't get Kane and b) he helped fulfill a homegrown quota.

But yeah, let's just blame Southgate.

Amazing World Cup tbh....certainly best in my lifetime.

As far as the on field stuff, yeah fair. Football related it’s been a lot of fun (ok some dog turd games early on but that usually happens).

I still have a huge problem with the off field stuff and still don’t believe Qatar should have had it.

But on purely football grounds, ultimately it was excellent.

You're Welsh so it's not exactly a suprise that you don't give a fuck about England.

Support Cardiff or Swansea you cunt.

One of the best world cup tournament I've watched. May be the best.

Well done Qatar and thanks for hosting a great tournament!
Yes...well done Qatar...you’ve made billions...now send home all the abused, exploited underpaid foreign workers home....

The media will absolutely hate the fact that it was so good tbh (which makes me happy it was undoubtedly excellent).

I’ll support the club I’ve been supporting since I was 6/7 thanks, you xenophobic waste of skin,

And I’ll support any and all ‘foreign’ players that play for spurs too.

It’s been a great game tonight and I’ve enjoyed chatting to the others about it, so I won’t be letting you spoil it for myself/others. Blocked you putrid pile of piss.

You're such a twat.

Hate England, support an English club.

Pathetic.

The oscars ceremony at the end was nauseating.

When the fucking gown for Messi went on I was in disbelief.

I was waiting for a crown and a thrown.

Listening to Jenas and Rio Ferdinand suggesting we were 'blessed' to have witnessed the spectacle just added to the puke factor.

It was a decent game, and there were other decent games during the tournament, but it was all wrong to play this tournament in November and December during the season.

I do agree.

From a footballing point of view the games and entertainment was very good.

Intresting though that this all seems to have gone Fifa's way with the outcome of the World Cup. When the tournament first started you couldn't switch the BBC or ITV coverage on without them talking about the issues yet come now there is hardly a mention of all the issues. I know this point is quite small on the scale and the football should be the main priority but the virtue signalling from all the pundits and media is frustrating.
