Well I voted for the third option ….

… clearly not ladylike enough 😅

Seriously, this is a daft question for three reasons.

1. If you think we’re the butt of others jokes now, can you imagine getting relegated? I don’t remember the last time any big six side went down, but it’s certainly not been a common occurrence recently, and if it happened to us now, in the social media age, we’d never be allowed to forget it.

2. There’s a strange assumption that if we had new ownership, they would be brilliant and everything would be rosy immediately. What’s the model for that, particularly post-FFP regulations ? Who are these magical owners that will transform our fortunes?

3. We’re fifth for heavens sake. I know the last few weeks have been hard, but this fanbase has been through much worse.

I’m ready for this season to be over too, but I still see plenty of reasons to have hopes for the next one.

Leicester having fun with that Championship Trophy.

Is it worth more than the Audi Cup?

They can add it to their Premier League trophy and the FA Cup they won.

How do those fans feel about that compared to playing in a shit stadium and having financial problems? Did that season in the championship really make them enjoy football less? They definitely paid less to enjoy it.

But those clubs have come back with a new culture and had a ride they could enjoy along the way. They won the Championship and had the excitement of promotion.
And Leicester traded James Maddison for Harry Winks.

Relegation would mean saying goodbye to players like Van der Ven and embracing young talents like Japhet Tanganga. Emerson would become the bedrock of our defence. Do you not see the problem here?

Instead of getting rid of our mediocre players, mediocrity would become the new normal. Villa have taken the best part of 10 years to get where they are now and I would say their current success is in spite of their relegation rather than because of it.

There is no Great Reset from relegation. Just a huge financial clobbering and a mass exodus of playing and coaching talent. It's a No from me.

Why is there a mass exodus? Why would VDV leave

When you consider what it would cost to buy Spurs and the stadium, I believe you'd face much the same problem we have now. ENIC is constrained by what they put into the stadium and the new owners would be constrained by the acquisition costs. There aren't that many entities that have bottomless pockets. In any case, if ENIC negotiates the sale of the team they way they do the sales of players, how likely is a deal to even occur?

How so?

It was built on a combo of club generated revenue and finance bonds (of which any new owner will inherit the same repayment plan we are currently under).

Asking price would be perceived asset value minus finance bonds still owed. (eg 3bn - 500m = 2.5bn)

Didn’t vote before it closed, but I’d probably go with no. The humiliation alone would be devastating and it would take years to get back to where we are now (which most of us aren’t satisfied with).

We are an incredibly well run club. We are also beset by some freakish moments and outcomes which defy logic and rationale, by nearly any standard.

See West Ham/Everton and others, and be vary careful a d grateful in equal measure.

We will find or stumble over a solution one day soon.

My only surprise is that we did not feature I'm 'X' Files

I'm glad I wasn't aware of this thread before today. The Fuck Off option should have been option 1, with option 2 being 'And When You Have Finished Fucking Off, Fuck Off Some More', and then option 3 should have been ' And Then Keep Fucking Off Until I Tell You To Stop'.

Do you actually bother to look at personnel turnover at relegated clubs? Say, Burnley this year.

You think the international level shitcunts are going to want to play at Rotherham? You think some of those shitcunts might have relegation clauses in their contract. Still we can always re-sign Japhet Tanganga. He’s club-trained, you know.
