Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He’s shown flashes but is inconsistent.

Need to give players time or we’d run almost all of them out of town.

Completely agree. He's very good but not all the time, as is the case with players that are not yet the final product. We need to give them time to grow, and the emotional support to keep going. It doesn't help Xavi at all that he's being played out of position, or that he's been asked to come on and try to change the game late on or in already bad situations.

Actually thought he grew into it yesterday.

Played a rough pass but then started combining with Udogie and Odobert, created some decent situations.

It definitely wasn’t a continuation of the Wolves performance.
Grew into it? He was awful. yeh I guess he didn't play a misplaced pass after the first couple but that's because he wasn't getting involved at all.

I still rate him based on what I've seen before and am of the belief that he will eventually come good but his passing has been alarming. Someone said it before, it's like he's closing his eyes when he passes.

You'll have players like Xavi and Wirtz who will come to the prem and take a little time to adjust properly.

Xavi I expect it to happen quicker, tho, as he's more physical and can handle himself more.

Wirtz is a true lightweight and has got a lot of work to do.
