You're joking, right? My yellow line is much closer to the truth than that wriggling red worm of a line.

We're 12th in the league in goals conceded and 13th in the table.

Yet these threads constantly fill up with people making asinine statements like Son is horrible, Johnson is shit, Maddison is past it, Solanke is a waste of money, etc.

It's clearly our defence's inability to hold on to a lead. We're 4th bottom in terms of points won after taking a lead. Only the 3 clubs that will be relegated are below us.

Our defence and midfield are the ones that ought to be bearing the brunt of the angst this season, yet it has always seemed to fall on our attackers who are very successful at their primary task.

VDV has been out most of the season. Romero isn't actually as good as he, and some others, believe he is. Our fullbacks aren't actually good at being fullbacks and are really just 2nd rate wingers (like a lot of fullbacks these days). We do not have a competent DM - which is 100% necessary with the style we try to play. The midfielders we do have are shite at shielding the back 4, who are far, far, far too often caught woefully out of position and disorganized. Our manager seemingly harbours a disdain for defencive strategy and, in any event, seems incapable or unwilling to notice and address the clear issue in our tactics.

Should our wingers do a better job tracking back? Sure, yeah, obviously. But that's a secondary/tertiary responsibility for their position. Their primary brief is to create goals - they are doing so at a very high level.
My man, I agree with a lot of them points you make, I do.

But let's not talk about our attacking players as if they've been playing like Ballon d'Or candidates. They've all had more bad games than good ones. They've all played in many games where we were totally impotent up front. Watching them for a big chunk of the season has been more painful than pouring kerosene into my eyeballs...and I'm not even including Werner, Richarlison (prick), Odobert or Tel in that cause for a reason or another, they've played 5 minutes. And how'd Sonny & co fare in games that really mattered like say London derbies? Besides...Sonny, Kulu, Dom, Maddison, Brennan...they all cost a ton of money, so yeah excuse me if despite their nice shiny stats I expected more.

Also, you attack with 11 men...and you defend with 11 men. More often than not our forwards fuck up the press, give zero shit about tracking back, putting their foot in ie helping a brother out, fighting for the team. Secondary or tertiary responsibility, I don't give a rat's ass to be honest...that's your friggin job, friggin do it. And too often they haven't.

But yeah sure, our manager is God awful, as are most of our CM and defenders. Bergvall is a 19yo kid from the Swedish league and he's been our best performer in the middle. Shame on Mads, Bentancur, Biss, even Sarr. Romero can fuck off for all I care, he's taken the piss big time this season. Micky is a broken body and nowhere near world class, Porro and Udogie aren't serious defenders (footballers?).

End of the day, it all leads back to the worst boardroom in the PL. I'm far more furious with that midget cunt & his gang than I am with the fat manchild or the lads. Put a proper football chairman in charge, see how all of a sudden Spurs get back to being a big club.

He did.
He took the ball of Johnson and gave it to Tel who is the designated PK taker on the pitch at the time.
Tel is getting unnecessary stick here.
I saw it all happen in real time at the stadium.

Johnson said in the post match itw that the decision had been made as well so he didn't make a huge fuss.

Romero clearly decided to follow the protocol of who was designated and also likely figured Tel could use the confidence.

Biggest money making league in the world, most expensive and extensive camera plans for every game, we have spider cams on wires and they go with this angle FFS!

They don't want to get decisions right. If they do, then they are the most incompetent humans on the planet.
I may be wrong (there's a first time for everything), but I thought the camera angle shown at the stadium was different to the one here?

That makes Romero a prick too..

No it doesn't.

Before the match the designated penalty taker is decided, the penalty was given to the designated penalty taker so Romero did his job.

Johnson was always going to pick the ball up as he was on a hatty and was chancing his arm but he knew he wasn't the designated taker hence why he was happy for Tel to take it

Honestly man you lot will make a fuss over any little thing, it's mental.
