'71/72 also.
Winning 2 European trophies in the same season.
Gut wrenching loss in the League Cup semi final
Unluckily drawn away to Leeds in the FA Cup 6th round.
Never far from the League leaders, but couldn't string a proper run together.
Yes, I could/should have added 71/72. Saying that, 72/73 was pretty good as well. Winning the League Cup. Then, agonisingly, losing to Liverpool in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup, on away goals. We won 2-1 on the night, but had lost 1-0 in the first leg. I remember standing in a packed Park Lane, as we threw everything at them in the last half hour or so, trying to get a third goal.

Italia 90 was up there for my favourite ever World Cup. Which led into going to see Gazza and linekar for spurs 90/91. Gazza was a magician that season.

Then European teams coming to the lane 91/12 after we had been out of Europe for so long. Some good nights out.

Was about to post the same.

The quality of the footie, the 5 man MF that Pleat discovered almost by mistake, Clive's goals, watching almost all the home games standing on the Shelf, I think I was at every FA cup game, smashing Spam 5-0 in LC replay, peak Hoddle and Waddle, Robbo getting a red card while on a stretcher, winning at the Library, I can't remember a boring game andGod knows we've had enough of them in the past few years
The 4-5-1 formation was brilliant that season with Paul and Chrissy wide. We had midfielders that could play all day and create chances constantly. A fun time to watch us. Wimbledon away in the cup was a highlight. Hoddle and Waddle’s goals were worldies❤️

We never won anything but 86/87 was easily my favourite Tottenham team to watch. Mabbutt and Gough as centre backs were brilliant. Hoddle was incredible that season. Waddle was exciting to watch. Ardiles still class. Paul Allen who was one of my favourites and he was so underrated was always a 7/8 out of 10. Claesen was another who didn’t start every week but was always great when he played. But the top man was King Clive. His finishing and all round play was phenomenal. How he never played more for England I’ll never know. He scored so many different type of goals but he was a predator.

We should’ve beat Woolwich in the semi of the league cup. We were the better team. Finished 3rd in the league but came up short against a top Everton and Liverpool team. The cup final against Coventry still fucking hurts today 🤣

Great team and youngsters integrated into the squad that year as well.
Superb side that

Yup, I was in the Paxton with my father for that Liverpool game. Can remember the 2nd goal as if it were yesterday.

80s, Redknapp and Poch era. Absolutely fucking hated the past few years and am currently about as disinterested as I've ever been. I thought Ange was going to reset my interest but I've found a lot of what I've watched since January to be just as boring as Jose and Conte tbh and I'm far from sold on him as a winning manager in the PL thus far. But I do like the fact that we're trying to do things more methodically now rather than just grabbing cheap deals for the sake of it.

Not all down to the club, just the way the game's changed and VAR stop-start shit, 24/7 news dross (transfer window periods are the pits for me).

Just drivelling on like the grumpy middle-aged cunt that I am. Oi you, get off my lawn!

0-1 to Milan.
2-0 to United at the last WHL game
2-3 at Ajax
5-3 to the chavs
Important to remember it was 2-1 as, annoyingly, Rooney scored the last ever goal at the Lane. Likely to be a pub quiz one day.
6-1 v united was good. Sky stopped overplaying that utd 5-3 after we thrashed united. Overkill coverage that was. Great win that 6-1. United fans at work next day had faces like smacked arses.
Not sure where you work, but most of the world was still in lockdown in Oct 2020

I think 1990 was the best year watching Spurs, not a full season but the 6 months after Christmas 89 to the Christmas of 1990 was excellent.

El Tel’s side coming together with Gazza, Lineker, Stewart, Nayim, Mabbutt…even Walsh as the sub. Just magic at times. That calendar year was something special, I guess the cup win in 91 validates that team, but I can remember, especially at the start of 90-91 season seeing Spurs going toe to toe with anyone, and often winning games, through magic football, rather than just a bit of luck.
