Looking something like this:

Keeper
(Lloris)

Hakimi-------Upamecano--------Zagadou-------Ballo-Toure
(Aurier) (Sanchez) (Tanganga) (Davies) (Cirkin)

Ndombele-----------Camavinga----------Lo Celso
Skipp

Fekir--------------Kane--------------Son

How’s the homegrown numbers looking?

Sell -
Foyth, Dier, KWP, Aurier, Lamela (70m)

Buy - 170m
Eze (20m, 150m left)
Godfrey (40m, 110m left)
Atal (40m, 70m left)
Zakaria (50m, 20m left)
Osimhen loan (15m for the season, pay an additional 30m to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season)
Nathan Ferguson (free but we’d owe some kind of compensation at a tribunal due to his age, so 5m left to cover any of that)

You do realize that all Football Clubs are switching to survival mode atm, right ?

And that the transfer market will be an extremely different one, whenever it opens ?

Trying to shift an extremely well paid workforce which is generating no cash flow for the foreseeable future is unlikely to generate much in terms of transfer fees. And as for Clubs offering DOFs war chests of 100M from their precious liquidity reserve, dream on.
Jeez mate, you must be a blast at parties...
Even though you’re probably right we need something to keep us entertained and I think this is a good thread to get us thinking...

I personally think it could/should go something like this...

Out:
-KWP
-Jan
-Foyth (think it would be a huge mistake but Mourinho clearly doesn’t rate him whatsoever)
-Rose
-Dier

In:
-Aarons
-Ubamecano
-Soumare
-Giroud (Don’t want this but could see it happening easily)
-Willian (Again, wouldn’t want this prick near the club but would be a classic Mourinho move and reckon it probably has legs)

Would leave us with...
GK: Hugo/Gazza
RB: Aarons/Aurier
CB: Toby/Sanchez/Ubamecano/Tanganga
LB: Davies/Sessengnon
DM: Soumare/Skipp/Winks
CM: Ndombele/Winks/Gedson/Sissoko
AM: Lo Celso/Dele
WG: Son/Bergwijn/Lucas/Lamela/Willian
ST: Kane/ Giroud/ Parrott

Like I said a lot of this is what I think will happen rather than what I think should happen, for example I think we need a new left back badly but Mourinho seems to like Davies and the club evidently signed Sess as the future left back, and I’d like to see us move on from players like Lamela and Sissoko this Summer but again, extremely unlikely to happen.
Be interested to hear other opinions.

Under CL rules (and abbreviated for ease):

Club trained players - those who have been under contract for 3 years at Spurs from the ages of 16 to 21 (excluding any loans out).

Players trained by other clubs affiliated to The FA (ie excluding Cardiff Swansea, Scottish and Irish clubs) - those who have been under contract for 3 years at those other clubs from the ages of 16 to 21 (excluding any loans out).

Under 21's - Players under 21 on 1 January in the year the season commences and have spent 2 years at a club affiliated to the FA

So what are the actual quotas (ie how many non HG, how many HG etc) I must meet

So what are the actual quotas (ie how many non HG, how many HG etc) I must meet

Easiest summary is probably :

- Maximum squad size is 25 (over 21's, unlimited extra under 21)

- Maximum 17 overseas trained players.

- Minimum 4 club trained players, if not reduce squad size by the shortfall

- Minimum 8 HG players (including club trained), if not reduce squad size by the shortfall (but eliminate any double count shortfall on club trained).

- Unlimited qualifying u21 players in addition to up to 25 over 21's

So of my 25, 8 must be HG, 4 club trained?

I'll play your game of ins 'n outs

Sell:

Hugo 18
Gazza 5
Toby 15
KWP 10
Davies 15
Dier 25
Sissoko 15
Dele 55
Lamela 15
Lucas 25

I'd just let Jan and Vorm leave

198 + 100 = 298

Buy:

Myron Boadu 20
Todd Cantwell 22
Calvin Stengs 20
Teun Koopmeiners 16
Kalvin Phillips 15
Dwight McNeil 20
Caglar Söyüncü 40
Ozan Kabak 32
Jean-Clair Todibo 10
James Justin 4
Dean Henderson 18
Illan Meslier 5

222

Since that leaves me with some spare money and Transfermarkt haven't got the 'Inflated-british-prices' I'll just add some extra talent for a rainy day

Jude Bellingham 12
Eberechi Eze 10
Omar richards 1
Michael Olise 0,9
Neco Williams ?
Nohan Kenneh ?
Coniah Boyce-Clarke ?
Luke Jonathan Thomas ?

245,9 (or ???)

I'll only set up in a 4-3-3

Kane
(Boadu)

Cantwell -------------------------------------------------- Son
(Bergwijn) ------------------------------------------------- (Stengs)

Koopmeiners ----- Phillips ------ Lo Celso
(Winks) ------ (Skipp) ------ (Ndombele)

McNeil ------- Söyüncü ------- Sanchez ------- Justin
(Sessegnon) ------ (Todibo) ------ (Kabak) ------ (Aurier)

Henderson
(Meslier)

That does leave some work for the coaching staff to make that LB work, and make sure Skipp is ready to be a 2nd choice.

Send Parrott, Foyth and Tanganga out on loan. I wouldn't sell Foyth until I had seen him get regular starts
Someone's been watching some Schalke. That's two I would think about as well.

So would this work:

Non HG or club trained

Onana
Lloris
Hakimi
Upamecano
Zagadou
Ballo-Toure
Sanchez
Ndombele
Camavinga (after three years he will be club trained HG)
Lo Celso
Sangare
Lopez
Son
Bergwijn
Total 14 Overseas trained

HG + CT
Austin GK (Club trained)
KWP (Club trained)
Tanganga (u21 next season, club trained following season)
Cirkin (u21 next season, club trained in 3 seasons time)
Skipp (u21 next season, club trained in 2 seasons time)
Kane (Club trained)
Parrott (u21 next season, club trained in 2 seasons time)

HG
Eze (Trained at club affiliated to the FA)

As shown above :

14 Overseas trained players
3 Club trained
1 Trained at club affiliated to the FA
4 u21's

So yes no problem with the 22 man squad, might be one or two players too small in practice ?

Terminology
- HG is used in PL regulations to mean any players trained by a club affiliated with The FA, they don't hve a separate category of 'Club trained' players.

- In UEFA regulations there are 2 categories 'Club trained' and 'trained at club affiliated with The FA.

In practice I doubt Spurs being able to bring in 7 overseas trained players, existing players won't want to move on - my strong suspicion is that coronavirus will hit GDP worldwide meaning all clubs want to reduce wages but players on 5 years terms will refuse to reduce wages and refuse transfers to clubs playing lower wages.

So I'd guess we'll be lucky to bring in more than say 3 overseas trained players, but could bring in probably 2 other players trained by clubs affiliated with The FA (incl. Eze) assuming Dele stays in addition.

Team of pressing monsters able to hold possession or quickly strike but more in line with his Hoffenheim team that he crafted over 4 years rather than his RBL team he inherited with that line-fluffing, pace merchant hurensohn Werner. Make or break on Dier and Davies but both would help transition and possibly be better in an expected 3ATB. Team's all about rotation, athleticism, technique, and tactical flexibility. And I have money in the bank and roster spots available with a few more expected the next year.

Gonna go with a 3-1-4-2 from the Hoffenheim days of intense pressing but this team can play about any formation:
[FORMATION=3142, Cillessen, Dier, Tah, N'Dicka, Zakaria, Smith, Ndombele, GLC, Lewis, Thuram, Sonny,[/FORMATION][/FORMATION]

Why did Schalke have such a terrible string of results a while back?

Dunno. I'm not following them closely. I don't think their attacking firepower is worth too much, Burgstaller, Raman, Kutucu and Matondo. Every time I watch them, there seems to be a lot of changes to both personnel and tactics. Don't know if it's injuries or Wagner who's just looking for answers. The tall defender, Sane, has been out for a while and there's been some noise around Nübel. But yeah, my guess would be, they need more quality up top

Another one who could come close is CM, Suat Serdar. I do like him but at the same time it feels like he's missing something. Maybe a bit of physique.
He caught my eye earlier in the season when Schalke beat RBL in Leipzig. I am having a jolly good look at him now in the reverse fixture, and what I will say is that he makes me want to throw dinner plates at a wall. Doesn't want the ball under pressure, so he is of no little to no use with respect to build-up play. And when he gets it, his lack of imagination/vision is another negative. His attitude towards the defensive side of the game is nothing short of disgraceful; scandalous lack of urgency and positional sense. His best moments tend to come during attacking transitions, where he will occasionally do something constructive. On the basis of everything that I have seen of him, I would say that games largely pass him by. He is handsome, however. I know all of that probably sounds harsh, but I only want the best for my club. Houssem Aouar, please.

I'd start with a couple of rotating casual assistants that tick a few boxes, one stays in the office taking dicktation and the other's for on the road duties.
