I remember the game he tore us apart the season before we bought him.
Thought we were getting a beast of a player. Has only ever shown glimpses. Frankly, seems a bit lazy on the pitch.
Our 2 senior midfielders (Biss and Bentancur) both need upgrades. Bergvall looks to be a star in the making. Sarr has value, great running, but lacks some skill. (Still v young). High hopes for Gray, but won’t know until next year.
So yeah, need reinforcements.

He had promise, started OK but honestly he's become a liability - I understand he's more of a defensive midfielder but his passing is atrocious, I'm sick of seeing him lose possession.
I remember everyone telling me he's the BEST midfielder in Europe about a year ago - sure he is.
It could be where he is played but it could also be a discipline issue or just Ange's coaching whatever it is when he plays I know it's gonna be a shit show.
Yeah I agree. The whole midfield whoever is in there is absolutely fucked in this team. The only time it looked coherent was in that first ten games last season. Since then they’ve been a mess thanks to the tactics. While I think Bissouma has been injured far too much and his professionalism has a bit to be desired I still think he has been good in parts. It hasn’t exactly gone to plan for him since he’s come though and if we want to get some money for him he probably needs to go this summer.

But this is grade A revisionism. At the time Bissouma was signed consensus was over the moon with this move!
He was linked with all the big EPL sides and was doing really well for Brighton. Many felt it to be an absolute catch!
Also at this point I would steer clear of making any definite assessment of players until we get in a new manager.
Cause based on this season performance level we absolutely should sell minimally Romero, Dragusin, Udogie, Sarr, Son, Odobert, Richarlison, Bisouma, Bentancur and most likely some others that I fail to mention here. Literally - every midfielder this season has looked total shit for long spells, mainly cause we are outnumbered and have absolutely no logical shape in our play at all.
We could theoretically sell all of the players mentioned and bring in 10+ superstars in summer window, but that is not how the world works.

Fact is, he has been the only midfielder ever been able to fill the impossible #6 role.
To be 3rd CB, only DM and also box-to-box midfielder in Ange system. All at the same time.
Yes, he did manage it for like 7,5 games but that is still 7,5 more than anyone else has to show for.

I heard a bloke on a pod say something that I have often thought. It's the suspicion that what we all thought was vintage Angeball was actually just pro plus Yves Bissouma.
He put together a ridiculous run of form (he's never getting back there by the way) that mitigated the massive void in the middle of the pitch that Ange's. tactics creates.
The ability to recieve deep, beat the first press and quickly release to Maddison elevated the whole mess into coherence. He was so good I was having serious arguments with people saying he was better than Moussa Dembele.
Now he did remarkably full of himself high on the balloon of the project, but it was no more sustainable than that Michael Rickets 30 goals in 33 games season . Ten games he was done and the high water mark of Angeball was done. All the post ten game wins were never again in this buccaneering style, they were not pure and true to the original Template.
Nothing will fix this ,Jonny Cardoso will be sacrificed on the alter of it if Ange is still here( hope he's not). But maybe it makes sense for another coach to pare back his remit stick him as a box2box in an orthodox three and see before we bin him for Bentancur of all people .

For me I'm of the opinion that Bergvall is better than Bissouma as a 6, and that Gray likely is as well. Better than Bentancur as a 6 isn't saying much. I think Bissouma is less of a natural 6 than Bergvall is- always has been a pure 8 for me. I've honestly never been pleased with his play as a 6- under either Ange or Conte. And seeing the way he plays I couldn't say that I see it ever happening either. I don't feel like he has in any way "excelled" as a 6 for us. Also I think he's been mishandled by our coaches.
Of course I respect your opinions on the matter and we can agree to disagree. For me his Spurs career is pretty much over and he ought to be moved on in the summer. Let the Gray era begin- or- what the hell did we spend 4om on? That's almost record signing money for us.
Yea, well .. it is not like I hate the youngsters. But I would like to first actually see either Bergvall or Gray in that #6 role. So far one has exclusively been played as defender and other as #8.
Anyway, even if that will be true in the long term, I do feel that we should not judge any player (exception being Werner who literally misses basic qualities of an attacking player and is soon to leave) under this management. Everyone should get a look-in by our incoming manager first.

Mass clearout needed Im afraid....starting with the complete coaching staff and manager........ it would also help if the owners found a very wealthy buyer..... we thank them for the stadium and facilities .... but it is now time for a massive change to move this club up with the elite.... otherwise what was the point of the new facilities.... Man U have just realised this is the way forward for the next 100 years.
