Player Yves Bissouma

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Out of whom Bissouma is not one.
Never has been.

Do you understand why he was good?
Because WE PLAYED WITH THREE MIDFIELDERS.

And why he has been poor for most of Ange tenure?
Because we usually do play with ONE. That is unsustainable tactics.

Biss stay, Ange go. Simple.
Should need more quality to CM - agreed, but would rather see him be outplayed in normal system before letting him go.
Its easy when you sit back with 3 defensive players in cm. He still watched Bruno run off him to get that huge chance for the header.

The replacement is cardoso, who is cheap on both wages and fee with a far higher ceiling
Does he have a higher ceiling? I've watched a bit of Spanish football this season and I'm not sure if he's that much of an upgrade... also, his transfer fee is still going to be 20-30m and apparently Wolves have offered a package which would see him get around 50k a week so if we sign him, it's still an investment much higher than re-signing Bissouma. Also, we have 20% stake in Cardoso so if Betis sell him for 30m to anyone we get 6m. Probably do do with the Lo Celso deal.

I think over the 2 semi finals and the final you could argue that overall he was our best player. Now the question is can you get him motivated in the games earlier in the season that build up to those big moments in the run in.

The way he hogged the cup last night, you'd think he's always been perfect on & off the pitch for us. That says a lot about who he is as a person.

Really can't stand him and I'll be very happy once he fucks off. Big(ish) fish in a small pond guy.

Respectfully, that's a nonsense. You can be critical of his performances, sure, but judging his character because of how he hogged the cup? Armchair psychology in a digital age.

Also, without him that cup isn't happening, he put in his 3 best performances in our last 3 European games, and I don't think anyone saw that coming. Hog the cup all you want big man

The guy has had 3 good games in a Spurs shirt, vs terrible opposition...same guy who did balloons whilst paid a king's ransom by the club, same guy whose discipline & effort has been severely lacking for the vast majority of his time in N17.

But yeah 3 good games in the European Paint Trophy and he's a hero, legend, big man etc.

Wow.

Balloons are as common as milk in tottenham and probably of less harm. He wore that mistake and clearly demonstrated that he recognised his shortcomings. As he did with his poor performances, you could see they were weighing heavy on him which is certainly a step up from people who genuinely don't give a shit. By all means judge him on that, many have, I'd certainly respect people for doing that over judging how he was holding a cup.

Also, if you don't think that turning around what had been a pretty awful individual season (amongst a sea of many) to deliver 3 stellar performances to deliver our first trophy in 17 years doesn't make you a legend, you're doing football all wrong. Our player legend box grew a lot bigger last night

I don't think it's a motivation issue, I simply think it's a coaching and systems issue. Systems make players. He has been played against his type for much of his tenure, and he's not the only one. That's why the really big question are still to be answered and they are for the high ups.

Bissouma can play as we’ve seen. I think the problem is he’s not an elite automatic starter and will go through periods of ups and downs like most and need to be rotated with these. And playing solo 6 in our system in the PL is very very difficult.
