Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The only player from yesteryear I yearn for in this side is Paul Scholes. Imagine him in CM behind Kane.

If we get there I'm honestly dreading what

----------Kovacic---------
Modric------------Rakitic

will do.

But until then, I'ma enjoy it.

Not that I disagree in principle, but haven't been impressed with Kovacic at all so far (famous last words).

We'll give them a good game (should we get there).

I'm just so pleased we got past Colombia yesterday. Another penalty loss would have set us back decades. I don't really care anymore, just going to enjoy it.

Great night last night. I've not been this excited about the national team since 1998, and I never thought I would be again. I surprised myself with my own nerves and euphoria.

On a Spurs note, sorry if already mentioned but I think that game was great experience for all our lot, including Sanchez, but especially our penalty takers. Fantastic to have that experience of a big game that they came through, and the nerves of the pens. In the long run it will offset the fact that they won't be at all fresh come the start of next season. And if we did the unthinkable and won the thing, I think it would help the chances of Kane staying for his whole career rather than thinking he needs to leave in order to win a major trophy.

Anyone still left thinking Southgate is a boring yes man? He been class since the day fat Sam got caught drinking pints of white wine. He hasn't put a foot wrong and can only say I've been totally impressed with almost every word he has uttered. Class.

Yesterday morning were the first interviews I have seen with him. Couldn't agree more. Level-headed... been there (few have). Knows the pressure is on and will always have critics. I prefer the noise coming out the camp in this tournament, he is helped by the players but he obviously has his ethos and it's refreshing. You can tell he lives every kick but also protects his players. Was also impressed by Tripps blaming himself for the goal and saying he needed to make amends, also Dier admitting he missed a chance.

For me the only mistake he is making is playing Young, he offers nothing. Rose has much better penetration and delivery. I would like to see Rashford used more as Sterling is doing nothing, perhaps more of a late sub to draw in a pen or foul. Shame Linguard needs so many chances...

It was disgusting. Cheating.

Weak refs let them get away with it. String ref should book every single cunt until they get out of the 18 yard box.

It would have been a travesty if Colombia would have won last night. Did you see how cocky their players and fans where befire, during and after extra time?

Wankers.

To be fair they probably had done quite a lot of high class gear by then !

Trippier on the line should do better. Maguire beaten. Nothing about Henderson marking Mina at the corner, losing him and ending up standing doing fuck all.

Don’t want to sound Henderson bashing as I think generally he’s been ok.
But if your going to single out players for errors, be consistent.

Like Ospina made a great save.

You get a feeling by the way players act walking to the spot who’s bottling it.
Henderson was and you knew where he was going to go.
At least he had the balls to step up though
Dier didn’t connect well with his, scuffed it a bit, but you could see he was positive. In fact all were bar Henderson.
That penalty spot was ruined by then, Trippier placed his to the side of it to avoid the divet.

Have to admit to not being that confident in him, but he proved me and many others very wrong. Solid
As I was explaining to my six-year old that a Spurs player was taking the potentially winning pen, my voice went. Not sure if it was pride or terror!

I also told him at the start of the shootout that he was about to learn something about being an Englander (we live in Germany). Now he'll expect us to win all the shootouts!

Vardy has a groin strain apparently and is a doubt for Saturday. Might explain why he didn't take a pen. Doesn't matter, Tripps took a better one than he would have anyway.

Spurs boys are gonna be knackers for preseason unfortunately - IF we win it though, they'll feel like supermen.
They won't need a preseason really. A quick 2 week holiday and light training. Get a run out in the last friendly or two and away we go.

Lucas/Lamela/Winks/Aurier/Davies/Foyth/KWP can deputise whilst they relax a bit. With youngsters like Griffiths/Edwards/Oakley-Booth/Skipp to be seen. Think we'll be ok.

You should greet that with hostility yes. But I’d suggest that just because we support an English team, it doesn’t make this an England forum. You can support Spurs and not England and vice versa. But as you say, don’t expect a warm welcome.

I found it strange that in the emotion of last night there were posts at the final whistle about Jockland. Possibly a point of the evening to celebrate than to give it out to others? When Spurs win a big match, Woolwich are the last thing on my mind. I’m too happy!

It does interest me though that in the midst I all this fervent England support that there’s a lot of “fuck Walker” and “fuck Henderson” going on. I think they’ve both been decent. Does show that club allegiance still above country I suppose.

The jock-talk was blatantly a response to all the banter from the Scots before and during the game.

Read something this morning stating VAR can't step in over a yellow incident?

That seems to defeat a hell of a lot of the point of it, surely.

Didn't realise "clear and obvious" error only related to red card worthy offenses.

Still wondering when we're gonna see retrospective action actually deployed as laid out too.... Does it not count in internationals? The bans carry over to qualifiers/next tournament so i don't see why not (see Suarez 2014).

Colombia ought to be in a position where their squad is heavily depleted for their next competetive games... Bet this wont be the case tho.
