You just know there's no way Levy will see it that way.

He will categorically demand the same, if not more money, for Eriksen.

Agreed but that's a huge reason why we boast World record profits the same year that we make the Champions League final. As they say in life you look after the pennies now and the pounds look after themselves.

Sometimes Danny boy take so it a little too far granted but there's nothing wrong with him digging his heels in, so long as it doesn't effect our other goings on. Time will tell with this one as we hopefully embark on a newish era at the club. Time to shift mindsets somewhat all across the board from director down to our scouting systems and fans alike.

Don't really get why anyone's bent our of shape about what Eriksen said. It's not like he slagged the club in any way (A la Rose), just said he feels like a new challenge but if that doesn't happen then he'd be happy to stay. Nobody has played more minutes over the lat 6 years than he has.

Never really get bothered about players saying stuff like like this. There was nothing disrespectful about it, the season is finished.

It doesn't make any difference to our bargaining position as a club just because he's stated something publicly that would have been stated through agents to the club and prospective clubs anyway. It doesn't change his contract situation, price we will accept, his salary etc, or who's interested in him - which are what will decide if he goes. Levy isn't going to be forced into knocking 50% off because the daily mirror know he's open to a move - that would be in the papers anyway if there was a move in the offing. And the fact that he hadn't signed a new deal last season made it pretty obvious this was on the cards.

The ultimatum really should have been last summer, not now though. I'm pretty sure there would have been takers.

IMO Eriksen's age makes Hazard's fee slightly less relevant. Yes Hazard is the better player (different positions) no doubt but Eriksen has a much longer potential output. Could see us getting a similar price to Hazard.

So then what is he looking for then? Just more money? I'm sure we could match any offer Inter make.

A so-called bigger club?

A trophy without being called upon to make the difference himself ?

....And of course, all the financial benefits that come with it.

(I wasn't implying he'd go to Inter.... Very much the opposite.)

He is our robin to batman. We just need to sign our batman
Ndombele can play Batman. Lo Celso....Batgirl....? :chadliwtf:

You do know eriksen is 27 and hazard is 28, that 1 year is not going to make a huge difference. We will Be very lucky to get anything over 65 million for eriksen
