Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Further price reduction. 6 Aug 2019.

According to AS, Spurs have told foreign clubs they’ve more than halved Eriksen’s asking price, meaning he could move on for as little as £50m if he transfers overseas.

However, this discount does NOT apply to Premier League sides, who will allegedly have to stump up more than £60m for the midfielder’s services.

Hmmm, looks like the asking price was initially too steep and scared suitors off. I don't know what that number was but judging from this it had to be more than 100M. So 130 to 80 to 50...to 17M.

What say you Stanley Stanley

edit: numbers according to published articles

Double dropping.

Double dildo, who knows?

It won't even take him that long. He was blaming Poch for the state of our squad -last Friday, IIRC- on the Other Matches thread.
He does love going back over well-trodden ground does our BC. Even if he's been shown time and again that his perspectives are wide of the mark. Was it Poch being responsible for transfers again? I love that one. It's like warm slippers and hot chocolate*

*of course with marshmallows. I'm not a heathen FFS.

Being made to eat Poch's huge contract buyout, losing control of the Eriksen situation, and the failure to lock in stadium naming rights when the iron was hot are three huge financial/managerial failures by Levy over the past year or so.

Yeah. Here is the thing-Mitchell quit his job because he was pissing against the wind with Levy. Poch got a new title that sounded great, but meant nothing. Because it changed nothing.

Basically what Jose is saying is anyone but Aarons if that is who the club are pushing him to sign considering he has been on our radar for nearly two years

So Castagne and Celik are still good shouts. I said earlier I feel Celik is Jose's choice, Aarons is the clubs choice, and Castagne could be the compromise

Agreed on never being worth it.

But as far as the last paragraph, So how do you explain our genius negotiator in chief allowing a player to go into his18months of contract then? Surely he couldhave gotten more than 17M (was that the number in Jan?) in the summer. And I think we both agree that CE was worth more than that number.
My personal explanation is that window after window nobody came with an actual offer (apart from Inter in January).

At first CE wanted RM, but they never made a bid for him. Last summer he was open for any elite club that wanted him, nobody made an offer. I think because nobody was interested at 50-70m, you believe the declared and crazy price tag was the reason. RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK shared an article here that stated we would've actually accepted 50m from any foreign club (source is AS and I don't know their credibility tbh). If that article is true, I believe it tends towards my theory that nobody was seriously interested, even at a price of 50m which I found véry reasonable (you are allowed to think otherwise if you do). And in the end only Inter were interested for an absolute steal at 17m, which at only 6 months worth of contract left, we couldn't really come out of 'victorious' anymore.

I feel like I'm just repeating myself so apologies if it's repetitive.
(This is also in response to your tag of me in that post)

@6:22

He says it's an experienced right back that's more of a stop gap, who the fuck is that

I've watched the video and I don't know why the guy accepted questions about Tottenham's new RB; he clearly doesn't have any good information on it.

He mentioned Aarons and Sess' brother (!) as options; didn't say a word about Aurier staying or leaving - which will obviously impact the search for a new player; and then he just said Jose would want a "more experienced" player.

Very weak - at least about Spurs.

Ornstein used to be THE guy for Woolwich news back in the day. But he has been trying to branch out to be that for all of London despite not having the connections for it.

Bit like trying to be England's Fabrizio Romano but without all the connections at clubs or with agents.
