Any analysis of our EL squad shows that we are short of HG players - that's why Spurs have nominated 22 year old GK Alfie Whiteman who played his first 10 minutes of professional football last week as one of our 4 Club Trained players.
And why Jack Clark is one of the 3 Association trained players nominated by Spurs in EL squad - and why we needed Association trained Joe Hart as back up goalkeeper, rather than another overseas trained player.
If Dele leaves (or any other HG player), our replacement option is almost certainly going to be an HG player. And even if we look to bring in HG players who play in different positions to help our HG numbers I don't see too many options (maybe raiding Bournemouth or Norwich for example) and even fewer who would positively improve the quality of the squad.
Our position will be slightly improved next season assuming Skipp and Tanganga are experienced enough to become regular starting options in matches and maybe Sessegnon if we know where he can play - and others coming through if experienced enough such as White, Cirkin and Clarke would help further.
Anyone wanting to look at the squad showing who is HG etc, the OP on this thread shows the current position.

January's transfer business will almost certainly be opportunistic - and in simple terms will be which overseas trained player(s) can be sold to create space(s) for incoming overseas trained players (and if we can get an experienced HG player in so much the better), and all within the financial constraints set by covid.
It would not surprise me if the only business was to 'lose' players not included in squads such as Rose, Gedson and Gazzaniga, with the squad remaining as it is until the summer. Although I'd quite like a player in to freshen up the squad the arrival of 7 in the summer who are still bedding in makes this less likely.
