What’s stopping us from doing that? If you don’t agree with the kneeling, you can just sit there and deal with it for 10 seconds.

Freedom of expression does not give one the right to be racist.
What if i'm not racist but just not a willing tuff kneeling. Where does that put me?

It’s probably not the best action to help change but how can one actually be offended by it. When they are kneeling, who exactly are they hurting?

I don’t understand how anyone can support booing players kneeling unless the message about equality bothers them.

Depends on what message you are getting? If this was a simple anti-racism stance by the EPL, like the rainbow socks and kick-it-out, there has never been any antagonism from fans towards that, but BLM isn't like that.

The majority of the UK population now consider BLM as a negative influence, the message they are hearing is that BLM support a radical left wing minority intent on overthrowing the establishment ... whether it's true or not that is what they are booing, as is their right under freedom of speech.

The woke idiots and media luvvies ranting are our of order not the people making their feelings known. Do they not see the hypocrisy in their actions?

To paraphrase Voltaire "I disapprove of your booing, but I will defend to the death your right to do it"

The fact you don't understand that is on you ... try looking at both sides of the argument, you may still not agree but at least you should comprehend.

Players get racially abused in games by fans (and sometimes other players). Coworkers all over the world deal with the same. The kneeling is a response to those behaviors. I fail to see a political agenda.

No chance. I would never condone politics mixed with it.

politics is in everything whether you like it or not

when Guardiola puts a yellow ribbon for Catalan independence, it's politics

when people use Irish, Scottish, protestant, and catholic imagery during the Old Firm, it's politics

when Juventus fans call Napoli dirty and disgusting and non-Italian because of their working-class background, it's politics

when a black player gets monkey chants, it's politics

when Lazio fans brandished a 50-metre banner around the Curva Nord that read, "Auschwitz is your town, the ovens are your houses," it's politics

taking a knee is fucking nothing - get a grip and get educated.

people who say there is no place in politics for X are just saying they don't want THAT politics

don't hide behind that nonsense, it's a piss-poor argument and indicative of poor critical thinking

Then you live in a simplistic world - go and look at BLM's political agenda on their website - if you could seperate racism from BLM then you're right, but you can't do that with the kneeling protests they are intrinsically tied to BLM ... ergo it's already political.

Fans aren't booing because they are secret KKK members they are booing being forced to support BLM ... there is a difference

Forcing someone to follow is not right whatever the cause is.

Lots of things are everywhere - does that mean we have to accept them all? Child abuse, poverty, discrimination.

Taking a knee is a political statement, just because politics is everywhere that doesn't mean it has a place on a football pitch.

It's the exact opposite, football is where you go as an equal to the person sitting beside you, where everything is put aside for 90 minutes and you get behind your chosen eleven men, starting that 90 minutes with a political statement shatters that illusion of togetherness ... it's just plain wrong.

Most people understand the problem with racism. But there are statistically numbers backing it up. Work with that and make the world a better place.

How do you know this?
It's ok not to support black lives matter, you can do that and still be against racism. And indeed some sportspeople who haven't taken the knee have explained their reasons for not doing so. What they haven't done is boo their fellow colleagues taking the knee. To do that is stupid especially with Millwall fans history of racism, nothing positive will come from it.

i literally just demonstrated how your idea that politics doesn't have a place on a football pitch is nonsense. taking the knee is a political statement in reaction to the politics that was already there when people decided to be racist. those are the people shattering your "illusion of togetherness". just watch the BBC documentary Shame in the Game it came out in February. itll do you some good
