Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

we have enough attacking talent, we just can't supply them with enough ball. Liverpool have 7-8 good midfield options. We have 2-4. Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago, Jones, Shaqiri (meh)... v Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Winks.

Need to improve both the quality and strength in depth of central midfield. Got bypassed a lot this evening.

Damn we need so many players to win the PL .. 1 central def , 1 bissouma , 1 winger , 1 top striker and 1 guy able to score some Free kick ... i like Dier but he is not Siniša Mihajlović ..
Too expensive for this season ..

Ndombele seems to only be able to play 60/70 minutes, whilst Lo Celso has picked up his 3rd injury of the season recently - think he's only started a couple of matches this season, and not fit enough to play that much.

I'd play Dele more there, but that's not happening.

We have a full squad so the question is which player to upgrade - obvious overseas trained player being Sissoko, hope Lo Celso gets fit and maybe start giving Harvey White the 10/20 minutes at the end of a game,

Correction.

Mourinho seems to want to take Ndombele off at the 60/70th minute every game.

I refuse to believe Ndombele couldn't play a full 90 tonight. He was making lung bursting runs in that second half, including one right before he was subbed off. His game wasn't waning. He was pretty much our most important player in that second half.

I assume Mourinho took him off to rest him for Fulham and Leeds knowing we have no Lo Celso and losing Ndombele could potentially end our hopes of anything special this year.

Maybe but even when Lo Celso seemed to be fit, Ndombele wasn't playing a full 90 minutes.

Not confined to Mourhino ether, a regular feature under Poch

Dele can't play in the Ndombele role or the Lo Celso from last season role because that involves way too much responsibility of moving the ball from the back 4 to the front 3 and Dele cannot make the kind of passes needed to do that job.

If Jose really wanted to submarine Dele that would be the move though. Put him in a MF 3 with Sissoko and PEH and then complain when he has a ton of giveaways because that role is a terrible fit for him.

Either way the Ndombele coming off at 60 minutes, whether it is a Jose tactical issue, his fitness issue, Jose lack of trust in his fitness or Jose being scared of him being hurt issue is a major problem. Especially when Lo Celso is out injured as well.

Maybe this is me being alarmist but I am not sure it bodes well for him staying here long term, because whether it is an him issue or Jose issue something is not working like it should.

You have seen us under Mourinho, right?

Why on earth would he play Ndombele and Lo Celso together when he can put more defense minded midfielders on and go for the 1-1 draw!?

If Lo Celso had been fit for more of the season, JM might have tried it : but Lo Celso seems not to have been fully fit for most of the season.

The other general reason is given the schedule of playing every 3 or 4 days we want to have either Lo Celso or Ndombele playing to have a creative cm, and they can't play every game, hence some reluctance to play both together (particularly as Lo Celso seems to have problems in keeping fit. - his playing record this season Giovani Lo Celso - Stats 20/21 | Transfermarkt )

If Sabizer joins (probably replacing Sissoko ?) I'd imagine we'll see more of Ndomnbele, Sabitzer Hojbjerg as our midfield, combination of creativity and defensive capability.

Our recent form is hopefully a reminder to the board and everyone that this past summer we were still talking about the necessity of a painful rebuild over the next few windows.

Need a dynamic and complete CM to play with Hojbjerg and Ndombele/Lo Celso. Probably some better rotation options as well, of which I’m assuming Skipp will be one.

Need another goalscoring threat in the front three.

Need a pacey CB so we can push the backline up the pitch and compress space more effectively.

Need to decide if Aurier/Doherty are RBs you feel comfortable going to war with.

We‘ve done mostly well in the last three windows, but there are obvious weak sports regardless of who is the manager.

There isn't a player in the fucking world we could buy and put in our midfield that's going to fundamentally change the way we play under Mourinho.

Watching Sabitzer under Mourinho, won't be much like watching Sabitzer under Nagelsmann at RBL.
