Match Fulham v. Tottenham - March 4 18:00 GMT

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We can dress it up as 3rd highest scorer etc, but the teams are laid bare.
He’s scored against two teams currently above us, who were below us when he scored against them. We’re 8th.

The rest of his goals have been between 10th and bottom

That’s back up striker stuff
No one and I mean no one in their right mind would argue Vinny is better than Kane, mate

Fulham have been in very decent unbeaten form. This was a hard fought, deserved 3 points.

Palace at home coming up, we can really get back in contention for Europe.

Feeling hopeful again

the teams above us - are there for a reason Sammy
they have more efficient defences, and midfields that starve our supply lines to our forwards

surely you can see that?

Your determination to condemn Kane as a fraud are perplexing

And no one has
But no one in their right mind should be arguing that Kane playing shite and not scoring is better than the possibility of Vinny playing well and scoring

What? Not even 10 minutes? 30 minutes?
One half?

What was all that stuff about in the summer?
WE NEED A STRIKER !!!!!!!!!!!

But we just need one to sit there

He’s not a fraud
He’s world class on his day, his general level is just below world class, and he’s off form.

Im perplexed by how many times I’ve had to say that and people keep painting my opinion as being “Kane is shit” rather than admit I have a point

No. There was nothing deliberate about it and handball is about or at least should be about the deliberate manipulation of the ball and not awarded just because it hits the arm in its natural position parallel to the torso. There was no manipulation involved yesterday. Common sense has to play a part.
I'm happy that it didn't play a part
in exactly the same way that I am pissed off that it didn't when Dier was penalised

as many people have pointed out, swings and roundabouts.

because your point is minimal and irrelevant under the circumstances

Kane on the pitch in his current form is more likely to score than any of the alternatives that we know of.

Maybe Scarlett for surprise value should be given more mileage, but on balance, I would gamble on Kane coming good every time

But Kane isn’t scoring more than Vinny at the minute though

Kane has 5 in 12, played 90 minutes in all but one

Vinny 6 in his last 7 where he’s played over 45 minutes, played 90 three times

Now you’re going to post that Vinny was against farmers, then yet again I’m going to post that Kane hasn’t scored against a top ten team or a team that was currently higher than 8th when we played them all season.

And you’re going to excuse it and say he’s scoring loads................

Id happily rotate, if you like what you see, don’t complain about it

Playing against a team high on energy, desperate for survival, on a tight little pitch like that, I think we did very well to get all 3 points.
I kind of get what you mean but, and it’s a big BUT, the way we played in the second half was absolutely fucking unacceptable. And it’s not a one off but a pattern. The first half was good in parts, pressing high and creating good chances. But that style takes a lot of energy - impossible to keep up after 40 odd games. So we need another way of playing which involves keeping possession; depressingly we seem unable to do that.

Hey, this is a discussion isn't it?
I just dont get why you cant see that the better the opposition is, the harder it is to score against them

And we have a pretty average midfield creativity factor, which is highlighted by the fact that our most creative player in terms of assists is - Kane. He can't create openings for himself. After him, the next highest is Son, another striker.

The problem that Kane has is that he isn't getting the feeds from a creative midfield, and when we are under the cosh from a dominant top level side, he is pinned down trying to shore up MF and often the defence as well.

His opportunities per game goes down and he has to feed of really poor quality scraps. All of these factors are real, yet you are concentrating on the very end result without considering them and crucify him with the "he's playing shit" line.
Considering his service - 14 goals is a good result, seeing as how he is having to fulfil other roles to compensate for the failing of others.

Maybe we should play him in midfield and put Vinnie in as central striker, but you want him dropped. So now Vinnie plays with substandard service against premier league defenders, and you think we will be better off?
Not going to happen, because no manager in their right mind is going to take that gamble.

Easy to propose when your job and reputation isnt at risk, not so much in real life.

My compromise would be Kane in MF behind Bale or Scarlett- but I wouldn't drop him whilst he's fit.

Fair enough, but it’s going to take Kane leaving for us to see this club is bigger than him then
