Can someone link the rule where it's stated we need 4 club trained players?
How do Man City ever get past that? I doubt most of their players had even heard of Man City while they were youngsters.
City have a smaller squad because they don't meet the homegrown rules and haven't for a while. Their homegrowns are Walker, Sterling, Carson, Stones, Ake and Foden. So they only have a 23 man squad. Our squad for comparison's sake is the allowed 25 man squad.

Cheers, makes sense.
Tbh I think 23 man squad is okay. If we get some decent offers for Alli & Winks, I wouldn't mind selling both. Reinvest elsewhere.

Spanish media reporting that Sevilla are willing to offer around 40 million euros, £35M, for Davinson Sanchez.
Is this site reliable at all?
Bill Madrid Bill Madrid time to play confirm or deny.

In the premier league to have 25 players listed 8 have to be homegrown in the country. For every number lower than 8 we have to have 1 less foreigner. So 7 homegrown max 24 players listed and so on.
In Europe we have to have 8 homegrown in the country in which 4 have to be grown in the club.

Tanganga counts towards our club trained numbers starting next season (turns 22 on the 31st) and I think that Dele counts as association trained instead of club trained. So selling him and getting Lundstram in is a even stevens scenario.

CCV could also be kept around to add another club trained player. He has over 100 games in the Championship now and could most likely work out as a Premier League CB despite him being a bit of a meme.

Tanganga still classed as u21 for next season as he was 21 last December.

Dele is club trained.

No idea really, I do know however that last week they had a Regui to Sevilla story that had zero basis in fact other than "he knows Sevilla"/"Sevilla know him".

My brief look at their site beyond that didn't fill me with any confidence as to their journalistic creds either, seemed to be story after story of recycled tat.

The best source by far for stories on Betis and Sevilla - better even than Marca - is the regional edition of ABC, it's a very old, very conservative but also very well respected national broadsheet - think the Daily Telegraph in days gone by. It's always been excellent for sport though, and the regional Seville/Andalusia edition is pretty much always bang on the money as they have hacks "embedded" with the two clubs in question.

I'll have a gander post-siesta

So if we want to improve, we must buy 1 home grown player; and promote 3 club trained players that are better than ALLI, WINKS, BALE and DOHERTY.

(skipp, sess fall under the U21 category)

i.e. There is no way in blue hell that we can sell WINKS and DELE unless we have another club trained players we can promote.

The club trained guys don't have to be better than those guys, if we promote a club trained guy and replace one of Winks, Dele, Bale with a better foreigner that improves the club. We just would want the new foreign guy + new club guy to be better than Winks/Dele/Bale + the foreign player going out.

Wouldn't Whiteman fit as a club guy if we move one of Winks/Dele/Bale?

You said replace 'Lloris with Onana'. Doesn't make sense for this transfer window given he's got a doping ban till the end of the year.
As for Darlow, he has a contract with Newcastle until 2025. We will barely have any net spend to play with, so wasting it on a reserve goalie (who has now been dropped by Newcastle) may not be pragmatic.
Well you didn't comprehend then if Newcastle go down Darlow is eminently gettable. They will have to slash their wage bill and we can offer them young players on loan as we did with skipp. Onana ban is February to February,at 24 years old on a ban for a diuretic(not coke or booze)he is exactly the long term buy id expect to see. I'll lay good money we go in for him. Because he will be a long term number one with time to acclimatise. I'm not breaking any confidences when I tell you we are and have looked at him.

In your scenario are we then playing without a number 1 until Onana comes back in February?

I think you may have missed the point.

We could say we have a 23 man squad, but as we have HG players we have Winks and Dele as well to make 25 players.

If we sold them we'd need to buy one Club trained player (impossible by definition) and one player trained by another club affiliated to The FA..... and there are not too many top class HG players available.

We already have the maximum number of overseas trained players (17) so need to offload some - and other clubs not too keen to take on wages that some of our players are on.
