I don't disagree that the quality of the squad is a big issue.
However look at our goal difference broken down by the time in the match.
First 70 minutes: +22
Last 20 minutes: -5
Our talent level doesn't magically get worse at the end of games.

That’s what im saying he took off our two best players to keep the ball and pass itHow are we doing that when we took the two players who can do that off the field?
You think when McTominay sees Sissoko coming at him with the ball he thinks he has to foul him? No he just waits for him to panic and pass the ball to him instead.
Lamela can run at anyone he likes they all know he will just hold it too long and give it away cheaply.
I hate fellaini. Another master stroke from Maureen. He was crap 5 years ago and now he's well into his 30's. It's the transfer equivalent of subbing in Sissoko.Well the inevitable Fellaini rumours are going again. That's the last fucking thing we need
...shit so we'll be signing him the first day few window then.I hate fellaini. Another master stroke from Maureen. He was crap 5 years ago and now he's well into his 30's. It's the transfer equivalent of subbing in Sissoko.
Under Jose i've never wanted to watch us play less or not at all!
I don’t read papers and watch zero of the punditry on sky, and I think Mourinho is the worst manager we’ve ever hadI don't care if a lot of gooners are pretending to be Spurs fans on a Spurs forum (well I do but I hate it). I saw the same thing years ago when Newcastle were the best team in the PL and every team played out of their socks to beat them. Do you remember Fergie saying, " I wonder if (Forest) would be motivated to play hard after a testimonial with Newcastle" to which Keegan exploded in that famous rant.
But the point was, Fergie had every team motivated to play like a cup final against Newcastle. I feel the same is true with Spurs now.
Spurs have barely any refereeing protection. Every other team in the EPL dives and get lots of free kicks/pens. Spurs do not dive and if they do they get booked for diving.
Then people like YOU say, " Yeah he should be booked for that" totally not supporting your team. But you are watching the match on Woolwich TV who tell you what to think. So when Lacazete dives and screams YOU condemn the Spurs player not the gooner faking a foul. You don't mind Mason Mount tripping himself up to get a free kick. I would have Dele Alli in England well before this wannabe-Beckham.
It's ok to be angry about the result and expect more. Just realise the deck if heavily stacked against Spurs and the media have been against him right from the start (Oliver Holt said so before day one).
But don't fall into the media trap and try to use your own mind not somebody else's especially's Sky's. I heard about the Utd disallowed goal and they all said, "we might as well all give up". But I saw it and McTomaney definitely slaps Son in the face. Ref watches it and the ref gets it right but Woolwich TV go mad.
If more Spurs fans complained about the unfairness in the system Spurs would get better refereeing and not have a cup final from every Tom-Dick-And-Harry team knowing they can get away with murder against Tottenham.
Oh Utd had 5 players booked today and should have had a red card. What did they do when they played Woolwich???
No how about you fuck off and support Crystal Palace, I couldn’t give a fuck what sky or daily mail write about Jose I don’t read that shit or let sky punditry influence my opinions. Jose is the worst manager we’ve had at the club since I started supporting , he’s sucked the life out of being a fan and made watching us a chore rather than something to look forward to .Too many Daily Mirror/Sun readers get brainwashed by red top papers who are AGAINST Tottenham. If you lose Mourinho in his first full season in charge (with none of his players bought) you go back to square one which is what your enemies want.
The media scorned Mourinho when he joined Spurs and wanted him to fail while Woolwich hired rookie Arteta and had no such criticism. Arteta has flopped even with MASSIVE SKY support to force referees to give all their dives and David Luiz headbutting Jimenez deliberately not condemned, but when McTomaney does hit Son in the face clearly it's derided as a bad call on Sky (Woolwich TV).
The Spurs fans on here have a go at their own team and their own manager rather than Sky or the FA or media. These Spurs fans are the worse fans any club could want.
They are spoilt brats feeling entitled and have no loyalty or even half a brain to see the big picture. I wish they would go support Crystal Palace and complain about them because they drag Tottenham down when they should be looking at other factors.
Oh, Mourinho isn't perfect either. He left out Alderweireld for no good reason. Lloris was poor on two goals also. José said they all gave 100%, I think Lloris gave about 25% (as usual).
I've never heard any of that.Think it was dressed up as mutual agreememt. Santini wouldn't pick Carrick as he didn't want him, Jol wasn't happy at being a No 2 and was about to leave and our results were terrible. Think it suited everyone in the end.
Levy still thinks we can win the Micky Mouse cup.The odds on him going are still frustratingly long. Really don’t think we’re going to see him gone before the season ends...
It went wrong when we gave Dier and Winks new contracts. It went wrong when it was decided Dele was surplus to requirements but wasn't sold. It went wrong every time we picked a back line that didn't include a good defender.Reguilón on for Bergwijn: how José Mourinho blew Spurs’ title charge | Jonathan Wilson
Interesting article, argues that we can almost pin point where it all went wrong for us this year.
Not sure I totally agree With the entire piece but there's definitely some things written in the article that are main points in this thread.
We don’t play to our strengths. We used to smell blood and keep attacking even when leading, now we shore things bring up by bringing on french Frankenstein at 60 mins and try and hold on2020-2021 Season
Points lost from opposition goals in the last 20 minutes: 14
Newcastle Home 90+7' (2 points dropped)
West Ham Home 82', 85', 90+4' (2 points dropped)
Crystal Palace Away 81' (2 points dropped)
Liverpool Away 90' (1 point dropped)
Wolves Away 86' (2 points dropped)
Fulham Home 74' (2 points dropped)
Newcastle Away 86' (2 points dropped)
Manchester United Home 79' (1 point dropped)
Points gained from losing positions: 6
Southampton Away (3 points gained)
Manchester United Away (3 points gained)
Which means we've saved zero points from a losing position since October 4th.
The story above points to a severe flaw in nature of the team. A large part of football success comes down to holding leads when ahead late and figuring out how to get back in it when behind. Either this team doesn't believe they can see out a result near the end of a close game or they are constantly being put in positions to concede late goals. Either they don't believe they can come back once they are behind or there is no plan B on how to get back in a game. Either there is a serious confidence issue within the squad or there is a deficiency in tactics. Or more likely, a combination of the two.
These are both areas that fall under the managers domain. He isn't setting them up to succeed on the field between the ears or on the tactics board. Its a spectacular failure in management.
Is it fair to compare this team to the 2016-2017 squad that was firing on all cylinders? Probably not but lets do it anyway.

Its a simple story. Bread is bread and cheese is cheese.
We haven't beaten a team placed higher than 10th when we've played them all season!!!Every half decent team we've faced of late we've lost the lot.
Liv, WHU, Arse, Chel, City, Utd, Eve, Leicester - not even a draw in sight. Woeful managerial performance
A lot of it is in Jols book but there were rumours at the time as well.I've never heard any of that.

How long is that?Jose is the worst manager we’ve had at the club since I started supporting...
Yes you are (sadly) going to be proven correct. Not a chance he will appoint any of the blame on himself. And you just know he will trash the club and call it a banter and bottle job club. “Same manager different club”. Bank on it

I will not go to a single game next season if he’s still here, and every mate of mine who’s Spurs hates him too, we’re not all brainwashed by papers we don’t read. If you think the media is the biggest problem we have at Spurs than you’re the one with half a brain.
