At least Martinez would play mildly entertaining football before being sacked after 12 months. Southgate is a decent bloke but bloody hell he is a terrible manager. How you make a team with Foden, Grealish, Sancho, Rashford, Sterling and Kane available to you the dullest in Europe is really something else.
