It was a truly brilliant performance and result. Also when you consider the Harry Kane fiasco hanging over our heads. Absolutely brilliant. But, this doesn’t mean this current team are good enough. We still need to work on that defence and 1000000% need another top goal scorer even if Harry stays. That Bergwijn miss could of cost us today. It didn’t and I am so grateful we battled like warriors, but let’s not get ahead ourselves here, we need to do plenty of work in the window still. Nuno extremely likeable too by the way.
That defence was outstanding today

Have you seen the Grauniad write-up? Doesn't mention Tanga once. Despite Neville, who knows a thing or two about playing right back giving him man of the match and waxing lyrically about his performance.

It was as good a defensive right back game as I have seen, against the best possible opposition. I was on my feet and applauding 1000 miles away when he went off, amazing 82 minutes.

Or perhaps he and us were just lucky, as you say

:pochunimpressed:

Yes. Japhet was definitely MOTM for me. Almost single-handedly nullified both Sterling and that new boy until he was subbed off, to the crowd's adulation. Tanganga took Sterling out of the game so much that Guar***** had to replace him. That's how effective he was. And Grealish barely had a sniff.
To top it all, Grealish wasn't allowed to embark on hardly any of those maisey 'dribbles that end up in a free kick', that he would have dreamed of performing on his debut for the best football club in the Universe.
In fact, Grealish looked like he would fit in very well at Aston F*****g Villa.

Stupendous, coming-of-age performance by JT, capped by a magnanimous, mature interview after the game.

I just watched The Kick Off highlights of the game on YouTube and that Craig dude is such a loser and not even a Spurs Fan. He came across as a bitter Kane fan. He spent the whole time slagging off the team. Literally the whole time until we scored (which he didn’t even see by the way) and then acted like a fan. I wanted to choke him the whole time.

On Blue Moon.

I guess it's just a matter of open check book playing, rinse and repeat. The thing is this idiot is not alone in his thinking.

"Mendy, Gundogan, Mahrez and Sterling all wank. 111 points left to play for and Kane coming in a couple days. No need to flap"

Watching the game back. We were quite fortunate but we had a real team spirit.

Lots a of positives from the match though.

skipp and Tanganga look very, very promising. Dele worked his socks off. Son played great but seemed to be on the wrong side. Moura continued his pre season form.

Bergwyne isnt the level required imo. Pierre was a rock. And the cbs did well.

Happy days.
