Good to see you back individual players who continues to fail this club
Who would you suggest should have filled Skipp's spot?
You're forgiven. I suppose, being in South Africa, you may not have heard me last night.Good to see you back individual players who continues to fail this club
I heard you loud and clear. Saw you tooYou're forgiven. I suppose, being in South Africa, you may not have heard me last night.
Yesterday?
I really hope it's just bad vibes by MasonIf its 2 then that is a concern and Conte might not be the manager that we think/hope he is.
I suggested Dier in my pre match line up on here, but Conte must prefer him as CB. I've got an inclination that Ndombelle isn't doing well with the Conte training regime.
I must admit I was shouting cunt at my computer screen when Winks took a free kick in the 1st half and passed it backwards. Been better off lobbing it into the Leeds box and hope if falls kindly for one of our strikers.Over Winks?
Ndombele obviously should have played.
But instead of Wanks I would also have played Rodon, John, Scarlett, Markanday, Patkosi, the ball boy from a few seasons ago that helped get us that goal, the guy who mows the pitch a random fan from the stands, I think Andy Townsend was doing the commentating on my feed we could have put him in there then I wouldn’t have had to listen to his idiotic rambling so win-win and of course if nothing else works going with 10 men would be preferable to playing Harry Wanks.
Or perhaps Conte is spot on in his assessment of N'Dombele, and actually it's Igula who isn't quite the manager that he inexplicably seems to think he is...If its 2 then that is a concern and Conte might not be the manager that we think/hope he is.

But of course his assessment of N'Dombele must be relevant, as for most people he was the other most obvious option. Obviously not many people on here want Winks in the first 11, most (including me) don't even want him in the 18 most of the time, but presumably in Conte's view he was the best option (perhaps 'lesser of the various evils' if you prefer) available. If you seriously think that Conte isn't keen on Winks but selected him because Mason told him to, then that's just comical, and if you're concerned about Conte because he gave Winks a chance over others who also continue to disappoint, then fine, you carry on being concerned, the rest of us will enjoy having one of the best managers in the world, and recognise that occasionally he will see things differently to the rest of us.Its not his assessment of Ndombele that concerns it is his choice of Winks that is the issue. And we saw on Sunday that Winks played horribly and was not the right choice at all.
Not been working today so done a fair bit of reading and rewatched the game.
Something struck me about how we looked positionally, I could work out where I saw it before then it dawned on me, Gasperini's Atalanta!!
Why look how deep both PEH and Winks played

The same in the improved 2nd half

And for the muppet in the Dier thread see above and how influential Dier was in bring the ball out as a result of our double pivot dropping deep (with Leeds going man for man it left Dier free), this was where Dier was playing many vertical line-breaking balls to the feet of our front three (mostly Kane and Lucas).
I think we missed Romero here more than anything as him coming out of defence is his biggest strength, it adds a body in Midfield.
Take a look here at Atalanta for comparison, it's the fucking same!!

With Romero back, if we can get him on the ball in those positions then should be a beautiful thing. But what stood out was how Davies has continued to be the CB that overlaps the most, this is where Tanganga really disappoints, he's an out and out defender (great competitor) but offensively is not been that good but none the less this is where also Dier impressed yesterday because I thought more than any player on the pitch looked the most keyed into what Conte was asking of each player for their role and was executing it throughout the 90mins.Great analysis. Dier driving into the open spaces really helped push the ball up the pitch.
What did you make of Son and Lucas movements? It looked like they took turns coming to the center to receive the ball when Kane was not there.
Once they received it that is where we looked lost. Son or Lucas would either make dribbles up the pitch or pass it backward most of the time.
Don't think that's an issue, with Dier as seen yesterday but although we desperately missed Romero 100% and Tanganaga I think is way off on the ball (a great competitor off the ball is where his strengths are), Davies is hard to rate right now in execution he's carrying out his role but feel he's just not very good too. But things start to look better for everyone once things click, I fear that this will take longer than usual for Conte because he hasn't got a preseason.Very interesting. Definitely further confirms my thought that our lack of ball playing defenders is going to be a problem for Conte.
Romero is up for it, Dier a tad erratic on the ball for me but passable, not sure where Tanganga fits in with Conte, and I think Davies is best as a back up utility player.Don't think that's an issue, with Dier as seen yesterday but although we desperately missed Romero 100% and Tanganaga I think is way off on the ball (a great competitor off the ball is where his strengths are), Davies is hard to rate right now in execution he's carrying out his role but feel he's just not very good too. The biggest issue is what's happening further up the pitch and getting the ball out wide to bring the WB's into play. At the moment our movement is quite basic (which is understandable given the time Conte's had) which means the oppo can prepare easily to stop our passing lanes and press x, y or z to stop us from building. It also means when this happens we don't have the solutions to combat this, it's kind of left to Conte to change something (as he did yesterday).
