I think our academy has been fine by helping players make the step up has been horrific. Players like Parrott, Edwards, Pritchard being kept in limbo for years without getting a loan and by the time they did they’d lost so much time in terms of developing with competitive fixtures. And nobody can tell me Townsend would’ve offered less than any number of other wide attackers we’ve played since he was sold. Tanganga is the latest victim of the u23 limbo.

I’m not saying all these would’ve made it but someone might’ve. Edwards was having a really good season this season with VG until he caught COVID, and Noni is doing well too at PSV. Why not blood these guys instead of signing the likes of Bergwijn?
I agree with you.

I also think we haven’t had enough talent coming through without the poor methodology we’ve employed

A Premier League owner is exactly what Levy is, his holdings in Spurs (roughly 25%) alone put him above 400 million pounds in net worth.
You don’t own something unless you have 50.1% of it, otherwise you’re just along for the ride.

As for Levy, he’s made good money being in business with Lewis clearly, but he’s a lackey. Levy’s wealth isn’t liquid, it’s tied up in the value of the club. Lewis has a vast portfolio and plenty of liquid cash, he’s the only one who could feasibly invest money into the club.

Spurs were recently assessed to be worth £700m, Lewis owns 70% of that and is worth £5b. So his stake in Spurs is a pretty small fraction of his overall wealth, unlike Danny. Shame Bahamas Joe likes David Hockney more than football. The 90m he spent on that painting would get us a box to box midfielder, LCB, and RWB.

Anyone with an internet connection can see what’s happening with Ndombele, it’s very much out in the open. You’d have to be an ingrate to be tricked into purchasing him.

The far bigger surprise would be if anyone was in interested him. Getting a third of what we spent on him and his contract off our books would be the greatest fleece job since the Louisiana Purchase.
I don’t follow pal. I can’t see how being that way disposed has any bearing

But I do agree that we’re going to take the mother of all haircuts

Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb Benfica1904 Benfica1904

Views on him as a player and his skill set?
Probably the best player in the league, 80m seems excessive though.
Left winger, cuts inside and finds himself in scoring positions (hence the high number of goals he scores), very technical yet direct, without pointless step overs, etc. Decent pace, all in all reminds me a bit of Simão Sabrosa, ex-Benfica player who famously almost signed for Liverpool many years ago. Reportedly was already on the plane ready to fly to England, when Benfica asked more money and the deal collapsed. 😄

I would buy him.

have you seen much of Hugo Ekitike? Highlights and stats look mighty impressive for just 19yo, I can't remember ever seeing him play. Newcastle linked with him today.

RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK
Just watched 5 mins of YT. Boy's got some moves hasn't he. I vaguely remember watching him score that last minute winner against Lyon, but wasn't paying any particular attention to him (he only came on for the last few minutes of that game) aside from thinking it was a composed finish for a kid.

Physically he's quite unusual isn't he. Those YT clips reminded me a little of Kanu.

We don't know what the rest of Levy's personal portfolio looks like, he's been involved with Lewis' private equity world for much longer than they've owned Spurs and has his own property interests.

Regardless, the point is, Levy gets compared to the likes of Ed Woodward, who is merely an employee of Manchester United. Levy is much more than that at Spurs, crucially he's much less easy to sack than Woodward is.

Hitchens got to go hasn’t he? Sure we don’t shop from the very finest of establishments but it’s only the level down after city, Chelsea and some of the European elite and he’s been an unmitigated disaster

Just dud after dud after dud
It's unbelievable he's still here.

His appointment in February 2017 to present has been the total destruction of the quality of our squad. Lots of blame to go around, but Hitchen has no successes to point to in his defense.

The facts are Poch stated "we cannot continue to challenge for major honours while spending small money"
We then proceeded to spend £0.00p for the next one and a half years.

These are the facts, my man.

Why can't you just accept that Levy / ENIC let Pochettino, Tottenham Hotspur and all it's fans down, and we're still paying for that criminal negligence today.
Youve an argument to make. It’s valid

That’s until you use poch as the aggrieved…. The geezer literally wanked away any serious money Enic supplied him

And it pains me to say that as I loved the fella
