I say this before every season but if this coward is in the first team squad at the start of next year you can write another season off as well. He's totally inadequate for the level we aspire to.

The first half was peak Winks. Back passing, bullied off the ball, completely non existent for long periods which saw the ball come back over and over again.
Clogberg wasn't any better tbh.
I just hope Conte can see what all of us have been saying for years after that performance. I'd be shocked to see him start again any time soon.

unfortunately i wont be shocked, he shouldn't of started this game. its the same old shit over and over again, winks starts and we are fucking dreadful as per. i wont be shocked but i will worry about conte. how on earth can these cunts not see how damaging it is having him bang in the middle of the pitch!

HW was a having a bit of a resurgence in form lately, but tonight he seemed to have lost all confidence; he was giving the ball away, slipping over, getting bullied, and going back to his backward passing days. There were a few good forward runs from him tonight, but overall a very ineffective performance, which coupled with PEH's equally ineffective performance, made it very hard for us tonight.
Just another Tom Carrol but without a stupid club wanting to buy him. James Ward Prowse is an example of a home grown product who gives everything and excels. Winks is a player who gives everything and yet is bang average when doing it. I don’t want him to fail. Far from it. But what he could have been is not what he is. And that’s on him.
i keep hearing this, then see him jogging about when we are in danger and up against it, that is not someone whos giving it everything. PEH is shite too but he gives far more out there than little harry winks, at least PEH will show urgency to get to players when we are in danger.
I think we can only dream of Winks delivering a bang average performance.
I'm not scapegoating him, as there were a lot of players letting us down, but he plays in a vital position where someone should be expected to run a game, not run away from it.
this is why he gets more stick than shit like say royal, hes bang in the middle of the pitch, the most important position on a football pitch and hes way out of his depth which means the whole team suffers.
hes the short pass option for everyone on the pitch, defenders, fullbacks, striker, wide men...every single one of them has harry winks as a short pass option (when hes not hiding). EVERYONE IS SUFFERING. its actually fucking insane that we have allowed it to go on this long, it must be making fans ill.

We had the likes of Modric and Dembele dictating things in the middle. Hell I'd take a midfield partnership of Jenas/Palacios or Sandro/Huddlestone over our current lot in a heartbeat.
He just doesn’t really have any qualities that a CM needs. Can’t tackle, intercept, break the press. He’s an ok passer but he’s completely outclassed by someone like JWP. That’s it.
We do need to sort out our homegrown contingent numbers if we are going to replace him from outside the league. I don’t want to be forced to keep Winks as a squad player because all of our non-HG slots are filled (yet fear we will).

He’s the definition of a passenger player. At least Skipp and PEH have at least more than one positive contribution to a single game that the commentator will mention it. “Good run by Skipp”, “Good tackle by PEH”. Winks will play the whole game and I’d forget who our midfield was.
