Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One of the best defenders around and there is no sense in trying to remove the aggressiveness from his game.

We just have to accept he will pick up a lot of yellows and the odd red and he will miss a couple of games because of it.

As I said in the match thread the cost of missing 1 game against Leicester is certainly worth beating City. If we don't have the squad to cope with his absence against opposition of that level then that is an issue for recruitment to sort.

He made it his mission when he woke up on Sunday that Haaland would not get a sniff, and he didn't.

Anyone saying he has to rein it in is seriously mistaken. Why the hell would you want that? Do you think any manager ever told Maldini, nesta, Stam, John terry to rein it in ? He’s a centre half, he’s there to put people on their backsides and lay down a message. Cuti does that for fun. Like actual fun. He loves terrorising strikers. Go watch the the World Cup final and see how he treated mbappe. He was absolutely terrified of Romero. At one stage he turned around after a goal and celebrated in mbappes face and he literally flinched like a little bitch.

Romero is our thunder cunt and we should be grateful we have him.

Perfect answer to the question.

Under no circumstances should we be trying to lose any of Romero's aggression.

It's also true that he often just does a pointless tackle seemingly for the thrill of it. Gets into arguments too which can land him in trouble.

He needs to focus his aggression. Hard tackles, but not doing random shit.

Not at all, he received some yellows in situation he only got the ball or even for shouting at players. He can improve but his timing is very good tbh

Romero improving his timing is fine even if his timing is already good.

Just great to hear they don’t plan to do anything about him being aggressive. Never want to lose that.

I am personally not a fan of tattoo but here we go...

The centre-back played in every single game at the winter tournament, including 120 minutes in the thrilling 3-3 final with France, which saw Argentina beat the reigning champions on penalties.
Incredibly, Romero has won three international trophies in just 19 senior appearances for Argentina.
He helped Argentina win the Copa America in 2021, followed by the Finalissima in 2022 and then the World Cup.
He got some fresh ink after Argentina became South American champions again - their first title since 1993.

And he got another massive tattoo to remember Argentina's World Cup win, covering the lower half of his right leg.

Romero's fellow World Cup winners can't get enough of his new ink.

Atletico Madrid star and captain Lionel Messi's right-hand man, Rodrigo De Paul, said in Romero's Instagram comments: "I miss you."
