If we get Enrique in Skipp is probably the only midfielder who suits his system. The technical players he requires in midfield coat 60-100 million in this market, and that’s on top of all the other positions we need to upgrade.
Could see Levy really going for this, brings Ndombele, Lo Celso, Winks back into the picture for at least a chance in pre-season. Don't think Skipp is much of a better fit than any of the five currently in the squad.

I think midfield would be the last position he'd have problems with. Dynamic attack with players that can swap positions... we have none of these, maybe Kane, but I think he's now really close to transfer.

I'm alright with Enrique if theres some long term vision involved with it. Meaning theres a plan for the club to play in that way in the future even if Enrique leaves the club in a few years.

Enrique is essentially part of the Pep school and thats the brand of football that wins at the moment so it's not a bad idea. It can be boring depending on what you prefer to watch but it can also lead to success.

People often talk about whether Mourinho/Conte ball is worth it as long as we win games but I think the real question is if the Pep/Enrique style of play is worth it. Pragmatic defensive football is pretty much dead and doesn't even yield results like it used to, its lose lose.

The real question is are you ok with possession based football that is based on keeping the ball just so the other team doesn't have it and slowly prodding the opposition to eventually find an opening.

I think switching to this style of play can be worth it but only if we stick to it. It will probably take time for that style of play to be properly implemented so if the board get Enrique they need to stick with it even when the results arent good.

I don't give a shit if we're 10th this time next season, just stick to your fucking plan.

I think to achieve that style of play almost all of our players would need replacing.

We have a severe shortage of technical ability on the ball to point where they make bentancur look like the second coning of pirlo.

We'd need a new GK, a CB alongside Romero and an Attacking Mid at a minimum this summer. Kane's fee will cover most of that. It probably wouldn't be enough but its a good start.

There's actually lots of good options available. Enrique, Poch, Tuchel all good coaches who could do well with the right players. De Zerbi looks a very exciting one if you could get the deal done.

Having a squad that we kind of half committed to building for a coach that uses wingbacks and water carrier midfielders leaves us in a kind of limbo.. though some of the players we have on loan could be resuscitated to keep us ticking over next season with an Enrique or De Zerbi. All I want is for us to pick a coach who plays good football and commit to him with a moderately ambitious transfer strategy for 2/3 years... communicate this to supporters. Hard to digest Conte talking about building, the future, developing etc when the average team age is 28. The problems above him are beyond complaining about, they've developed the club well but winning doesn't seem very important and they really don't seem to understand the actual sport itself.
