According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Pedro Porro is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Spanish international will join Tottenham permanently in a deal worth €45 million this summer. But the newly-crowned La Liga champions want to prise him away from the North London club.

Pedro Porro has been one of the best young full-backs in the world in the last few seasons. The 23-year-old rose to prominence at Girona FC before moving to Manchester City in August 2019. But he never established a foothold at Manchester City and instead spent three years on loan at Real Valladolid (2019/20) and Sporting CP (2020-2022).

Sporting signed him permanently last summer before Tottenham came calling in January 2023. And the Spaniard has managed three goals and three assists in 17 appearances. Meanwhile, Tottenham will sign Porro permanently in a deal worth €45 million this summer. But Barcelona will look to secure his services ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Barcelona will enter the market for a right-back this summer. And it is hardly surprising why they are desperate to land a top-class full-back for the right flank. They have failed to fill Dani Alves’s void since the Brazilian defender’s first stint at Camp Nou ended. Since then, Nelson Semedo, Sergi Roberto, and Sergino Dest have all tried and failed to fill his shoes.

Meanwhile, Xavi Hernandez utilised Jules Kounde, a centre-back, on the right flank for most of the 2022/23 season. While the Frenchman was a solid customer as a right-back, he wants to play as a central defender next term. So Barcelona will look to sign a right-back this summer, with Pedro Porro emerging as a target.

Apart from the Tottenham defender, Ivan Fresneda recently emerged as a target for Barcelona. But Porro might make an instant impact, considering he is more settled as a senior footballer. And the Blaugrana will soon launch the offensive to sign the 23-year-old.

It is unclear if Tottenham will be ready to part ways with Porro immediately after signing him for €45 million. But if a deal for the Spanish international does not materialise, Fresneda might accept a move to Barcelona in a heartbeat.
Well launch away then, you paella munching cunts!!!

I don’t particularly rate Maddison or think he fits into Ange system, but he does rely on a very creative central midfielder so fits the mould. Massive question marks over his pressing etc though
Completed more tackles last season than either of Celtics 8s, Only Partey at Scum made more tackles, only Rodri at City made more tackles, only 3 players at Brighton made more tackles, Bentancur was our only CM that made more tackles and he made 50% more tackles than Eze.

I've seen Lukeba a fair bit due to hype and I must admit, he is quite error prone and pretty turbulent as a young centre half. Think Davinson Sanchez but better technically.

But he's also 20 years old so to be expected. He's no where near as good as say Saliba was at the same age and definitely doesn't have a higher ceiling than Gvardiol. However I do think he's the sort of profile we should be looking at. Young, coachable, very high potential and in a position we ultimately need.

van de Ven however is someone I also really like and he's in the video below the Lukeba one. Reminds me very much of a young Vertonghen.

If we got Adarabiayo in as squad depth (To replace Sanchez) and then brought in someone like a Lukeba, van de Ven or Medina. We'd have improved our defence so much.
According to Fbref, van de Ven has made twice as many errors as Lukeba.

No examples but a lot on here thought he may be less rock the boat than other managers. Some of the transfer targets if to be believed are not exactly inspiring. This Maguire must have some legs. He certainly doesn’t suit a high line high press team. Is that Ange or the club saying to Ange his cheap you can have him?
It's journos making stuff up. We haven't signed Maguire, as far as I know.

I like this link, in as much as he's the type of profile we should at least have on lists, even if not at the top of them.

Busy little fucker who can play football too. Lacks a bit of physicality, but is tenacious, dynamic and technically decent.

Lyon have got to sell this summer too, as they are financially fucked to the tune of 120m Euro.

Edit
This is another guy in the same profile worth being on that list:

He also scored a crucial goal in that 2-1 win. He was a bit rash… a hand in the face and holding back a player in the 92nd minute… but that feels like youth rather than deficiency.

I’ve seen a bit of him. He’s had some excellent performances including a really good game away against PSG in a game they won 1-0.

He’s going to be top class. I don’t want him to come to Spurs because we’ll ruin him. I’d prefer is to ruin an English defender.

I've watched a fair bit him. I don't hate the kid, he's got some potential, for the right money I wouldn't be incandescent with rage if we took a punt, but I've also not watched him once and thought "unflappable Rolls Royce", as the tweet headline seemed to suggest, but he's 20, and there are hardly any 20yo CB's who I've thought that about. Hardly any older ones I've thought that about.

Our problem at the moment is that we desperately need someone like Jan to lead Romero and the rest.

What are your thoughts on Arthur Theate? Not seen him much but when I've watched him, he reminds me of a more mobile Vertonghen lite.
