We've managed to get Bentancur, Udogie, Sarr, Maddison and Bissouma for barely more than the gooners have just paid for Rice. That is fucking mental.

And they could say they have Saka who cost what from.their academy?

Let me tell you I would rather we paud 100 million for Rice than 50 million for Ndombele and whatever we paid for Lo Celso.

Not comparing apples and apples mate.

I love how people swing from "I hate X player and we shouldn't sign him" to "If Ange wants him then we should get him"
It's one or the other folks. You can't have it both ways

Today’s winning post.

I guess Ange could be in love with David and we are wrong but I’m not sure because we’ve been interested for a few years…

Only thing in my mind is Canada is similar to Australia for football. Maybe the small country thing appeals to Ange
Wash your mouth out mate Australia has reached the knockout phase as many times as Canada has even qualified for the tournament. Since they last won a major tournament, we won our continental trophy, moved continents, qualified for 5 straight World Cups, won another continent's trophy and produced one of the best managers in World football.

Sorry mate you touched a nerve.

We've spent £400M since Paratici joined, Chelsea have spent £988M since Boehley...which set of players would you rather have?
Honestly, Arty? The right ones. And the right manager. I don't personally care how much stuff costs (not my cash) but I do want it all to make sense. That's where the club's been failing for a fair old time.

But I now see green shoots and good football and that counts for something. Just hoping Levy realises what he's got: a manager we're all getting behind and some really good young players. Give them more to strengthen depth and the future's bright.

Will it happen? We'll see ...

Can’t agree.

He’s not THAT good. A very good player but a £100m player? Nope.

How much did we pay for Bissouma?!

I respect your opinion btw. I just don’t agree with it.

Bissouma was a bargain. I’d be happy to pay 100m for another Bissouma as well. Sometimes you get bargains sometimes you supplement it with paying out. The bargains aren’t always available.

Is rice worth 100m? Probably not. But then Caicedo isn’t worth 115. I think he’ll end up England’s captain and Woolwich’s captain quickly.

(I’m not saying that if we had that money to spend I’d go and pick out Rice .. but I definitely wouldn’t be annoyed if we’d done it.)

Not letting myself get wound up that we’re not throwing money around. It’s just not the way we operate and no amount of moaning is going to change our model.

We’ve made loads of mistakes in previous windows and we’ve been left with a huge squad we can’t shift.

At this point I’m happy we’re almost starting again with a new team. signing more and more players isn’t what we need right now.

We need some patience while the mess is sorted - and to let Ange do his thing with the squad we have.

We won’t fix everything in one window. I can already see progress on the pitch - there’s another window in January and we might even do well to have the kane money stored away when ange has given a few players even more of a chance to prove themselves (rich, kulu im looking at you)

I had to watch most of forests games last season, Johnson is good but not elite. His finishing is terrible. Fair enough he plays in a struggling side so might get more chances with us.

I think this if being very honest.

Rice has been bought, to add a necessary piece to their puzzle. A part that is unlikekyto need upgrading for a while.

I think they are still short but in Saka amd Rice have two players who start in most teams. They would be the first names on our team sheet.

It's about having the best whole that you can be and in that regard, and aside from cost, they are further down the line than us.

That's my point, spending a shit ton of money isn't a guarantee of success if you've spent most of it on dross...

Think we’ve reached the stage where we fully need to begin preparing for no more meaningful incomings all window. Absolutely zero smoke in the nearly two weeks since we sold Kane.

Last season the club announced that there would be a 150m cash injection in order for us to compete. Loads thought that cash injection was in addition to the money that we had in the pot already for the summer.

The club proceeded to have a net spend of 131m. So with a 150m cash injection in addition to our allocated summer transfer funds we somehow proceeded to spend less then the cash injection.

The board then came out with a statement stating we had spent 200m (I assume they were including the Porro and Kulu fees).

When they inevitably screw us over again I hope they don't have the audacity to include them in this seasons spend in order to justify how utterly pathetic they have been again.

We have spent 200m, and the window hasn't shut yet. Not sure what your point is?
