I don't think the manager(s) have been involved whatsoever in the Chavs transfers, they have a clear MO of buying under 23's with a high ceiling and have an absolutely humongous squad, Poch was most likely told he will have to work with the players that the club hierarchy identifies and brings in. How the hell he is going to manage having so many players is anyone's guess, I mean Potter really suffered with all the stories coming out about the changing room being too small to accommodate all their players, Poch has already been ambushed in interviews about players he isn't even aware play for his team.
Yeah I saw that.

They aren’t a real football club

I get what you are saying but don’t fully agree.

It depends on if you have an overarching football philosophy and recruit managers to fit that.

Our biggest issue was bringing Jose, Nuno, and Conte after Poch because we thought they were winners and completely failed to understand what kind of players they needed and what kind of football we wanted to play with the way the squad was already built.

That's the point I'm making though.

The football philosophy of the club should align with the managers and players you bring in, so should Ange leave we ought to recruit a very similar manager who plays a similar style and can improve players.

What we've been doing over the last 5 years is chopping and changing with win now and defensive managers.

I'm happy that the club are backing this manager because it feels like he's here for the long term and wants to build something, the only time you worry about the next manager and the players he's left behind is when we are being linked to someone who is the total opposite of your club's culture.

Disagree.

Nothing I have seen, mostly in terms of quality from Misshitharlison or again so far from Son (although better in his outfield play) that makes me believe either will score goals aplenty.

I am not sure Johnson is also the ansewr but his pace, directness and potential will, I think add something that we need at present and in the absence of that out and out striker.

The valuation is just modern day nonsense and Forest seeking to capitalise on a prized asset and why shouldn't they.
I remember some fans wanting Adama Traore simply for his pace, not scoring or assisting. Johnson is 10 times the player he is and coming on later when teams are tiring he could cause serious damage. Still need a penalty box striker though.

38*2 = 76

We only ever got close or bettered that record twice in the last decade or so. That's with Dele, Kane, Son, Eriksen all in their prime, and in a very attacking setup.

What you're talking about basically each of our players equalling or beating their best ever goal tally. It may well happen but it would be incredibly foolish to trust that it will and do nothing to try to find some more reliable goal scorers.
No, I'm talking about many players who didn't get goals for us getting some.

I'll ask again, care to wager that we'll score the same or more than last season?

Maybe Ange can offload some players to Celtic, they want defenders and mids. Give them Dier, Sanchez, Ndomele and another and we'll take Kyogo and Hatate in return as they seem to fit Ange's style and are struggling under the new celtic manager. Kyogo is a goal scorer wherever he goes. There are not many genuine goal scorers around. He knows where to be, reads the play better than most defenders and reacts quicker.
and Levy would have get a whole new set of Japanese fans into the ground and sell lots of shirts.

What if Bentancur was fit right now? You wouldn't pick him for the first team over any of Bissouma, Bentancur or Sarr surely, he has a shout of being slightly better than Skipp right now, but Skipp hasn't peaked yet so theoretically has a higher ceiling, and is also club trained. We simply don't need him, and if we were looking at him for the kind of money we want to receive for him (£30m+) I'd be mind-boggled as to why the club thought we needed him...
If you think Skipp is close to being as good as Hojbjerg then there's really no point discussing this.

3,4 or 5 players scoring 10 each better than 1 scoring 30. Let’s put the 1 scoring 30 back in the team . That could mean 1 scoring 30 with 2,3 or 4 scoring 10 goals each. Wouldn’t that be much better. .
Last season watchingnSpurs I’d scream to get more players in the box which wasn’t happening, even Kane outside. Against Bournemouth there were times when we had 5 in the box, promising. We still need that pen early box striker however. Not to get one would be ridiculous.
It doesn't work that way. If someone is getting 30, then a bunch of others are not getting 10. Just look at how the output of City's goal scorers from the previous session dropped when Haaland joined. And it's always better to have a threat from everywhere than from a single source.

It seems that Dier has 1 foot out the door. I suspect we bring in Lenglet on a free transfer. Which is a good bit of business for a decent backup to VDV.

Sanchez is tough one. Who can we sign that is willing to sit on the bench to back up Romero that is better than Sanchez?
Everyday we seem to be linked to some new striker. But who should we get? Ferguson - 110 million.. David 50-60 million.. Vhalovic- 50 million..Orban 30 million. I'd be happy if we signed any one of them. Ferguson could end up a superstar but 100+ million for a guy that has scored 8 goals seems massively over the top. Orban looks great but plays in the weakest league. Personally I'd plump for Vhalovic. What do most fans want?
Osimhen would be the best but impossible. Vlahovic is the next obvious one and we should get him in a.s.a.p

If you really think Hojbjerg is so amazing despite 20yo Sarr who had a bit-part role last season has completely displaced him and Ange has clearly transfer listed him on the understanding that we don't need him, I don't really think there's much point discussing it either.
I didn't say he was amazing, this is just you flailing around. Ange also didn't transfer list him, Hojbjerg wants to leave. Guess your name is accurate at least.

Different wealth bracket to Rennes,
Not to mention, Levy was the "scout" by all accounts when giving Mourino and Conte their 8th choice players.
Is he suddenly gonna stop being ponderous on the ball, passing sideways or backwards, hiding and blaming others when he fucks up passages of play, letting players run past him like he's not there? I don't see it personally.
It's funny how so many players got excused for poor performances because the fans didn't like the coach, but PEH apparently isn't allowed that protection.
If he goes to a team we will, guaranteed, be tussling with all season, he will improve them compared to what they've got.
He will put in 6 or 7 out of 10 every match, all season. It's not about whether we get worse if he goes, he will improve them and we should be a little concerned about that.,

What does Hojbjerg do that makes him objectively a better player than Skipp? He isn't even very good at recycling possession. He's an average 6 and a poor 8. The occasional goal or blood and thunder tackle does not hide his massive deficiencies.
I'm not going to explain things to a person who has shown both an inabilty to understand simple arguments and a bad understanding of football, like I said this is pointless.

He's way better than Skipp. Way better.
If Skipp played for any other team you'd be incensed if we were linked to buying him.

It does t mean all the others would get 10 without that 30 goal striker either. Your idea of no striker but up to 5/ 6;others getting 10 is fanciful to say the least. If a striker could get 30 then onlyn3 others would need to get 10 to match the same numbers, any others scoring would be a bonus.
